Just wondering what everyone's thoughts are on the best off season signing.

It doesn't look like anyone really make any big steals, as they appear to be a bust or just doing average at best.

Michael Nylander - 5G 12A -7
Paul Kariya - 4G 14A - +1

I would say Paul Kariya and Brian Rafalski have been great of the high priced players...

Kariya has 18 points in 17 games. I'm most impressed with Rafalski even though he's just doin' what he's always done.

Rafalski I think has been very good....
Gomez and Drury will come along and even they arent tearing the league apart the Rangers are doing well..

Blake is a small mystical illusion to me..I watch him every night, he flies by everybody gets tons of scoring chances and shots on goal but the puck doesnt go in.....

Penner is a tough one as he isnt worth the contract he signed, but its the circumstances that are working against him..

Roman Hamrlik has been great for the Canadiens.

Sykora has been good for the Pens, IMO. Not too expensive, either.

I'm so glad that sourray wanted out.

I don't think the vast majority of them have been as big of a deal to their new teams as they would have been to their old ones.

I think Adam brings up a good point...20 games may not be enough to judge a players impact...

i think the best was Blake...he is really show casing the excellent decision making of the leafs brass and helping them win games

Surprised no one has said Briere. Philli has had a nice turnaround. Of the top level free agents(Drury,Gomez,Briere) He seems to be the one having the most success.

he did have a slow start however he has come on and definetely is earning his paycheque now
