Full Version: Turned A Straight, Facing A Donk-shove On River That Made Backdoor Draws.

reads on villian are none, due mostly to cardplayer tv.

The overbet on the turn was a result of reminisiing the 12-table smash stratting days. And the fact that there were 4 other people in the pot. Hopefully one of them would have called the overbet, which one did anyway.

I instacalled the donk-shove on the river. Yeah the guy could have made the backdoor flush or a higher straight, but I rationalized widening his shoving range by the general bad play at the .01/.02 NLHE level.

Is this an instacall?

Horrible call.

The Villain was passive, indicating he was on a draw. Then went to aggressive when the scare card dropped. This could be a better straight, a flush, or even a straigh flush (two possibilities!)

could also be two-pair couldnt it?

Give it time Dude. This is a Forum, not a chat room.

"Could" be a lot of things. Especially at $0.02

...but given the action as described, making this call just seems like a poor move. I wouldn't do it at higher limits for sure.

That is one of the things that sort of scares me about playing at micro limits. How do you know you're not sacrificing "real action" for being able to see a lot of hands at a low cost? I would be very afraid of getting used to seeing this action and thinking "could be two pair" instead of "made flush"

exactly. no way i make this call at anything higher than .05/.1 but at $5 NL, this really could be anything. And a straight is ahead of anything, right?

I fold preflop and bet more on the turn.

MORE!? My 5x the pot bet wasnt enough?

Bet more on the river. Fold to the shove.

INSTA MUCK THE RIVER. If the guy turned up with two pair, then you got sick lucky. People at .01/.02 don't make plays like this very often without the nuts. Looks like a flush to me. Why call?
