Have you bought a licensed hat lately? They are at least $34.99 plus tax when I see them.
really?
http://shop.nhl.com/family/index.jsp?s=D-S...nguins&pg=1Maybe it's different in Canada but I wouldn't expect to pay more than $25-30 for a normal hat. I wouldn't call the retro trucker hat "normal".

I haven't seen a live hat trick since 1989. True story.
Francois Guay scored a hatty in an Amerks game I went to on "Free Painter's Hat Night" at the Rochester War Memorial. The ice was covered with about 3000 paper hats, they had to stop the game for 10 minutes to scoop them all up.
I had something similar happen at a Canucks game. They gave away free hats to the first 1000 people in the gates, and someone (Naslund?) scored a hatrick. I had brought an expensive hat to the game, so I was happy to have something cheap to throw.

I brought a shitty hat to the Pens/Sens game I went to in December because I had a really good feeling Sykora was going to score his first ever hat trick.
Spezza got a hat trick. I did not throw my hat.
Sykora had 0 points.

When I went to the Bruins/Leafs game I just had my old dirty Bruins hat, so I bought a new one for $30, and wore it to the Atlanta game the next day when Lucic scored a hattrick, tough titties for him, he's not getting a 1 day old $30 hat from me!

Question:
Why do you throw your hat(helmet) on the ice, if you didnt throw it the first time he scored?

Rick Nash accomplished a feat that hasn’t been replicated since 1948. In Columbus’ 8-2 victory over the Detroit Red Wings, Nash tallied an unassisted hat trick. The last player to score three goals with no assists from his teammates was Maurice Richard (March 1, 1948).

First-period natural hat trick for Steve Reinprecht! 8 goals on the season now through less than 11 games. With a clearly-sustainable 34.8% of shots going in, Reinprecht should score about 45 this season.
For those of you wondering where this prowess came from, it is an interesting fact that Reinprecht is an avid e-surfer. There is no doubt he came across an FCHL trade where he was traded for nothing more than a conditional 5th-round pick. Worse yet, the condition was 35 NHL points. "35 points? I'm a goddamn superstar!" he thought. "I'll show this Steve how awesome Steves can be, and drop 45 this year just for kicks."
Little does he know Steve is actually rooting for him, considering he gets nothing if Stevey is under 35 points...

The little d-bag has been doing that to me for 4 years now in the league-that-must-not-be-named. All of his big games are on non-league nights or nights when I bench him because of non-performance. He's one of the most unpredictable, frustrating fantasy hockey players in NHL history.

I'll echo that sentiment and throw in another douche, Tomas Plekanec. I had him all over the place last year, and he didnt do dick. This year, he's a ppg.
In one trade last year, very early in the season, I got Plekanec and Erat. I thought I was buying low. All I got was season long frustration.
