Local Room, 2/5 NL, mid-late pos with A-6 soooooted (hearts). 1 raise in front, I call along with 3 other players (1 behind and 2 in front). Flop comes 5-6-A with 2 clubs - no hearts. First to act checks, next player pushed for about $400, I've got him well covers (am sitting with about $900 from my original $300), still have 2 to act behind whom have no more than $300 or so. Player who pushed is in the game for about $1000 at his point and is capable of a big range of hands so he could have a draw, trips, AK, or nothing. I don't think he'd push with nothing with so little in the pot. What would you do at this point?

I don't think I could fold this, but I'd want to get it heads up. Who raised and how much?

We don't have all the information yet.
Pot size?

Doubtful, villain has a set the way the hand is played. I push all my chips into the middle. You're way ahead of villain's range here.

shovel... you dont want the other players in this pot... your hand is vulnerable to a number of stupid occurances you dont want to see happening... isolate now & get HU vs the guy you're likely ahead of & stack him... it's going to win you more money than inviting the rest of the brady bunch along i think...

Such an obvious call. What is there to discuss here?

Ok we need to know what the raise was preflop to help you, and almost regardless of what it was, you should probably shove over the top. Get the hand heads up, or at worst, get someone to snap call with AK or A5 behind you. You're going all the way with this hand regardless if someone has a set, so just shove and get some money in the pot.

Knowing the preflop raise lets us help let you know if you should even be in this hand to begin with and the pot amount on the flop which is crucial.

ALSO STOP PLAYING 2/5 GAMES WITH MAX BUY-IN'S OF LESS THAN 500 DOLLARS PEOPLE, ITS JUST A SHOVE-WAR.

What he said. If the guy made a set, why would he just open shove? (I mean, donkeys do stuff like that cause they're donkeys, but still.) Top two on a drawy board. Ship it in every time.

Thanks, Mark. We need more input from you in this forum.

Insta-call. This is often an overplayed AK/AQ or some sort of draw.

Thanks for the good replies. The preflop raiser made it 15, mini-raise in this game. I shoved all my chips in and he had a flush draw, luckily he missed. I did get an open ender (the preflop raiser) to fold his draw and he would have hit with the 9 on the turn. It took me awhile to decide what to do, just wondering if everyone else would have done the same.

Thanks again.
