Full Version: 88 - 3 Way Flop W/a Gutshot

No reads here. Been multi-tabling for the last few hours. Three way flop with 88 and I pick up a gutshot on a 9 high flop, two spades. SB checks, middle player bets and I pull the old check-raise, which was my decision as soon as the flop came out. Get called on the flop and the possible spade flush completes. I lead for less than half the pot which screeeems bluff me. That's the street that I'm a little lost on. Thoughts all around?

I bet about $6-7 on the turn. If villain shoves, I probably fold. If villain calls, I'd probably c/f the river if a spade hit, or I didn't improve my hand, or in the case of this particular river c/c.

Also, if you're going to c/r the flop raise it more. Villain only has to call $2.25 into an $8.35 pot.

Well, you have to bet this river now that you got there. You can really check/call because he's never going to bet anything but straights and flushes, but he might call with two pair or top pair or something stupid like that.

I agree with raising and betting more on every street though.

Good point about the flop bet. What about the bet on the river. Was going for the value-bet line. Of course I'm not sure how well that works with the possible flush draw out there.

Make a real bet on the turn, or check.

I was kind of undecided about the river, but your line is probably better.

I think making bigger bets/raises on the flop and turn makes our decision a lot easier though.

Yep. Also if you go for the flop C/R which I'm not a big fan of, it has to be bigger.
