2008 bowl games...

Michigan 41 vs Florida 35
Missouri 38 vs Arkansas 7

2007 bowl games...

Tennessee 10 vs. Penn State 20
Arkansas 14 vs. Wisconsin 17

That's 3 loses in bowl games to Big-10 teams in the last two years, but that should be ignored just because OSU lost in the title game twice.

I agree that the last few years the Big-10 has had the SEC's number in bowl games for the most part, but seeing you are an Ohio State fan you will be bitter for a while with good reason I suppose. (0-9)

LOL @ Jadaki being an OSU fan.

The Big Ten generally does well head to head against the SEC in bowl games you know..other than the title game.. I researched it all last year around this time and it's somewhere in this thread. The Big Ten's record was favorable over SEC, as I recall.

And I just really like this picture so I'm going to post it again.

Florida is a lot better this year than Michigan is, so at least you have that. We won't even sniff the top 25 this year.

You probably don't want to compare stats between the Packers and Cowboys since 2000 either, champ.

lol at using bowl games to compare the leagues, including the sec and everyone else for that matter owning OSU

From top to bottom the SEC just has way more talent and better teams.....I'm right, if you diagree, you're wrong.

The Big 12 is definitely close behind though.

5 teams in the top 10, thats all

looooooooool.....

*first of all Arkansas was like the 7th place team or something last year in the SEC and were put up against Missouri who was like 2nd in teh big12 i think.......good match up, and cute to put that on your list smile.gif

*tennessee beat wisconsin in the outback bowl last year, dont forget that one

*big 10 should suspend Ohio State for embarassment......it's too bad the (currently) highest profile football team in your conference constantly wets the bed against major out-of-conference opponents.

Yea but Florida was what... considered the second best team in the SEC at the end of last year, and anyone who watched that game knows it was not nearly as close as the score indicates when they got dominated by Michigan, a team that remember... lost to App St.

TN... the team that just lost to UCLA, who just got smoked 59-0 by BYU.... makes you wonder how good TN is. Think anyone in the SEC can lay a 59-0 beatdown on TN?

College football is a lot more balanced than people like to think, that 10 scholarship reduction seems to have affected everyone but USC when it comes to depth and the dominate teams just aren't as dominate as people would like to think.

5 teams int the top ten... because they haven't played anyone OOC yet. TN did, look what happened losing to a mediocre UCLA team with a 3rd string QB who put up 4 ints in the first half. Auburn put up 3 points this week. If you can't put up more than 3 points in a game you do not deserve to be in the top ten.

SEC teams are notorious for playing cupcake out of conference schedules. Say what you will about Ohio State, but they play legit teams every year. Texas home and away, USC home and away. I don't see Florida, Auburn, or LSU lining up to play a top 5 team on the road to start the season. The only real program is USC, because Pete Carroll will play anybody, anytime, anywhere. He takes any game he can get, and I have a ton of respect for him for that.

The Capital One bowl is one of the best indicators of relative conference strength (1st choice from Big 10 and Big 12 after BCS), and the Big 10 is 7-3 in the last decade. It's not a be-all, end-all, but it goes to show the SEC's not a slam-dunk more talented football conference.

This year should be interesting. I'm thinking something like Wisky/UGA, or maybe Penn State/LSU. I'd really, really, really love it if it were Sparty/Auburn, because Sparty would win like 31-20.

To Florida's defense when they scheduled Miami like 5 years ago Miami wasn't in the shape they are now, thats why I think scheduling should take place closer to present time since it affects peoples judgement in the BCS. (We need a college playoff BTW!)

lol take a look at UGA's schedule or any other SEC team and tell me why we need to beef up our out-of-conference???? Ohio State needs to schedule these games because they have a pretty weak conf schedule. They've cakewalked thru the Big 10 the past few years only to get pounded by a legit opponent when it comes time to really make a statement. pretty embarassing actually.....

I'd really like to see Penn State or someone different run the table in the Big 10.......Ohio State are nothing but bed-wetters when it comes to playing when it counts

I agree.

I did think Florida looked a little flat this week though, but TN is just bad so it didn't hurt them. I'm not really sold on Florida having a running game when it matters either.

LSU/Auburn was the best game I've seen this year, lots of fun to watch. I'm looking forward to the GA/Alabama game this week just because I'll be watching it with a GA fan so it will be fun to pull for Alabama to piss him off.

I have a wait and see approach on Oklahoma and PSU, all they have done so far is beat up scrubs. When PSU goes and plays Wisconsin at home then we will know where they stand. Oklahoma is going to have to beat MI to convince me they are as good as they look so far. I don't believe in Florida's running game, I think LSU can beat them if they get stable play from the QB. GA's injuries have me wondering about them, but we get to find out more about them and Alabama this weekend.

Sidenote: I actually want GA to win because I hate Alabama.

If you really think OSU is a bunch of scrubs then you need to stand on a field and get tackled by James Laurinaitis, they might have 2-3 current starters who won't get drafted into the NFL. The rest will be playing on sundays, hardly a bunch of scrubs.
