I just found some very interesting info....
Georgia is ridiculous... they have traveled something like 350 total miles for non-conference games in 10 years.

Check out some of the information here.

And Florida...

yeah our school wants the $$ so refuses to schedule OOC games out of the state
we make something like $6 million per game @ the swamp

Last year though ppl said Florida didnt deserve to be in the championship game. They said we had close games like a 1 point win over South Carolina on a blocked FG and a poor performnce against Vandy and look wat happened. LSU is a good team that yes got lucky a few games but I think they are one of the best teams in the country

As a fellow Gator/SEC fan, I really hate to disagree with you. Last year, Florida was a really great team full of talent and deserved to be there. This year it's much different. LSU sucks, plain and simple. I can understand you rooting for your conference and all that, but be reasonable. LSU one of the best in the country? NFW. It's difficult to listen to people say that LSU has a chance in this title game. They don't, and they will get crushed.

dude......if you think LSU is getting "crushed" in this game, then I'm not sure what you put in your peace pipe. IF they get beat, and thats a BIG IF, it won't be by that much. I expect LSU to win by 10-14 points. Why exactly do you think they suck??? I think their coach is a bit wacko but they have one of the most talented teams in the country. I'm a Georgia and I think we were prolly the best team in teh SEC at seasons end but we couldn't take care of business early on.....LSU did and they won the conference fair in square.

btw, to all you Big 10ers......if LSU, Florida, and Tennessee all take care of business in their bowls..........THEN GET OUT......lol, Happy New Year all!!!!

Freddec, tell me what you think about Georgia being ranked right below OSU and getting snubbed? I think that is very unfair to them. BCS is a jopke.

damn i was going through this thread and just saw this post, sorry its taken a month Fitz.....anyway, here is how I feel.....

I don't think we got snubbed, we didn't win our conference so we didn't deserve to go to the NC game. On the other hand, I do think we are one of the best 2 teams in the country right now......but that means nothing......

Also, does anyone think Hawaii has a shot to beat my Dawgs??? it should be a fun game to watch but I'm pretty sure we will run them over.......but we'll see

I agree that this LSU team is no where near as good as last year's FL team.

I still dont think they get crushed though just because Ohio State isnt very good either. Honestly, you can make a decent case for like 5-6 teams to be in the title game. There is no great team this year....stuff happens.

#2 vs #1
#12 vs unranked
#16 vs unranked

SEC teams are going to be favored across the board, especially with homefield advantage against OSU. I'd say if the SEC doesn't sweep it just proves they are overrated.

Oh I'm sure it was some referee conspiracy against UF or something. Hahhaha, so funny 4 turnovers including 2 on the 1 yard line by the 1 guy who never fumbles and we still win by 6 in a home game for Florida. This UM team got screwed by injuries, if we had been healthy from day 1 I'm pretty sure wed be in a much better bowl, probably against another SEC team whos likely quite overrated (not that OSU isn't too, but well see).

FYP

SEC's still 5-2...which I suppose isn't bad for an "off-year" in my opinion. For what it's worth, I have high hopes that Hawaii can win the Sugar Bowl. I mean, I'd like for the conference to look good and all, but my desire for an undefeated Hawaii to embarrass this joke of a system is bigger.

During the regular season, yes. Bowls so far...we've exceeded my expectations.

Yeah...this is immensely depressing. I'm pretty sure I'm going to need to put a certain SEC fan on ignore. Honestly, for all of the talks of annoying fans from LSU and Bama, I think that title now rests in Athens.

One more reason to hate the BCS and the Rose Bowl. How nice would it have been to see USC-UGA play eachother? They could have made better matchups I think, but they didn't want the controversy of a split vote between the AP the BCS. Fuuuuuuuuuck this system. Just goes to show that USC and UGA are just as deserving to play in the title game this year, and I think OU will join that group when they blow up WV.

Couldnt agree more. What a waste of airspace after 4pm. Those games were worthless, and, whats worse, pretty much everyone knew that they were going to be. GA-USC would have been awesome to watch.
Freddec
Damn that game was a waste of time for UGA last night. Likewise for USC. Such a joke that the best american sport has the worst championship system. As a Georgia fan, I would have rather played USC with the chance of losing instead of playing this JOKE CIRCUS TEAM that we did last night. Colt Brennen.......give me a break.......How could an NFL team even draft him after last night?? Yeah, Georgia won, maybe I should be happy, but it was just a joke of a game.

Don't have a favorite team, but grew up 20 minutes from Cal so I root for Cal/Big 10. I won't try to argue for them though as I don't know enough about them.

However, I have lived in the ATL for 7 years now and I can say I get a HUGE laugh out of the SEC nuthuggers. My wife and I hang a flag for whatever team is playing GA that week. I love it!! Tennessee winning the div and having a shot at a BCS game is the biggest joke in the country. Obviously the SEC didn't think they were a very good conference since pretty much everyone is going to a west coast style offense and not recruiting defense anymore.

It has nothing to do with strength of schedule, but rather a complete lack of consistency from top to bottom of the SEC.

USC would beat any SEC team right now by a minimum of 10 points. I'd bet my car on it.

What is going to make me really sick is if both TN or LSU AND GA make it to a BCS game. That would be a travesty.

PLEASE PLEASE for the sake of the G.O.D. give Hawaii an SEC team in the BCS game.

lol.....Hawaii just owned huh......did you hang a Hawaii flag yesterday?

Wished upon a star Nov 25th and my Xmas dreams are coming true.

I couldn't have selected a better team for Hawaii to play. Give them the team everyone in the lower 15, particularly GA, thinks should be in the national championship game. There's one thing UGA fans have plenty of and that's excuses. I can't wait to hear them when Hawaii rolls UGA for 50.

i was kinda being half way sarcastic........but damn Georgia owned him. i understand that its not totally his fault either. Hawaiis O-line was no match for UGA. Anyway, Hawaii got their shot to hang with the big boys and they got destroyed. They had a neat year but i don't think we will see them in the BCS for a while no matter what their record may be. You beat a WAC team. I wouldn't be all giddy over that fact. If Boise St doesn't win last year, I doubt Hawaii even gets in the BCS.
But congrats on a nice season (in which you didn't even win your division of your conference).

It is, Tressel is 0-3 as head coach against them. The Big-10 record against the SEC would be much better if it wasn't for OSU.
