folds around to the sb, which I'm sitting in, I complete with Q-9 spades, he min raises to 50 cents, I call again.
Effective stacks are $25.00, he has me covered slightly.

I check, he bets $1.00, I raise to $3.00 total, he calls

I check, he bets $5.00, I minraise to $10.00, he shoves, I call
Thoughts? Am I being over fancy or is this a smart enough play against an aggro?

No, you didn't get cute at all. Villain can see both your raise and the two queens on the board. Your hand is realtively transparent.

the flop is a spot where you can get tricky here. based on your read of villain, i may just check/call, but your play is fine. if he had a tighter pf image, i might donk lead.

your goal is to get as much money in the possible. you're just not gonna fold trips in a blind on blind battle against a laggy player for less than 100bs w/o a really strong read. when you check/raise the flop you either have a Q or total air. reasonable players will check behind any turn if they don't have the Q beat.
when they check behind on the turn, it becomes impossible to get their stack!
make sure you understand that last sentence.
