Can someone please explain to me why this show is on the television?
The show is the textbook definition of "not funny at all".
Carson Daly is the textbook definition of "not funny at all".
Their sketch actors aren't funny at all.
Their writing is spectacularly uncreative and their sketches are written so dully that, even with funny sketch actors, they still wouldn't be funny at all.
His interviews are painfully boring.
I remember the early days of the Conan O'Brien show. While he was definitely struggling, it was clear that a comedic genius was present and given enough time to hit its stride, the show would eventually blossom (and it did). There isn't a single redeeming quality about this damn Carson Daly show.
The only reason I've even bothered to watch it is because it's right before PAD; but, its like the mere existence of this show has created a little burning ember of hatred in my chest that glows brighter and brighter every time I see his gay, unfunny face. It's like a testimony to the absolute worst in mass media.
Do I just "not get it"?
Is there really something funny about this show that I'm missing but it's over my head?
Full Version: I Don't Understand The Carson Daly Show
I remember watching it one night and Carson really made it work and everything on that show was hilarious. The problem was that the crowd feedback was extremely horrible.
For the longest time I had the belief that it was a very underrated show and I didn't get why so many people hated it.
A few months later I caught a few episodes, and my dreams and hopes were shattered and I realized why the crowd was so out of it...because every episode was horrid and I must have been at the right place at the right time to find a good "Carson Daly" show. But alas, it will not happen.

Yeah.. He seems pretty personable and is probably a nice guy.. and I don't think the guy's ever really claimed to be a comedic genius, but that show is awful..just awful. And it doesn't help that they book horrible guests.

I agree perfectly with this entire post. Especially the Conan part. He was clearly going to be good if given time.
ps. Max Weinberg probably shouldn't have ever been on the show, but he is getting funnier as time goes on. [ ASS ]
You are missing something. He teaches people about karma.
I actually like when he opens the show with a press conference, so I tend to DVR the first 5 minutes of the show every night.

Same but the show sucks
And some times he doesnt have time for a monologue so they put the words on the screen and say if u want to see tonights monologue u have to DVR it and pause it to read it
