So am I because I don't think it will be a domination. I think the Hawks will move on but I think Nashville matches up real well against them. Really well.

Agree, but I think Nashville can beat them.

Agreed.

Not with Zach tho.

I'm surprised you guys think Nashville matches up so well. I think they match up alright, but not superbly. If I had been home 5 minutes earlier, I planned on making a series bet on Chicago at -350 or so, and I never bit on significant favourites. I think Nashville beating Chicago would be a more surprising upset than any other series, including Montreal winning.

Anyone want an even-money series bet on Nashville? I'll take Chicago. Up to $25.

Suited_Up
Not sure who that team was. It wasn't the Hawks.
mrdannyg
Hawks are still the betting favourite...
TheDaveyG
Getting Campbell back will be huge, he does such a great job of getting the Hawks out of their own zone and getting the puck into their zone. That has been the big glaring problem this series. The Hawks usually dominate in puck possession which in turn keeps their opponent to a small number of shots. The odd man rushes just aren't there for the Hawks so far.
Suited_Up
They just prefer to win by shutout.
kers2
2-2 going home... could be worse. Just win baby!
serge
That has to be the worst way to lose a game ever...Power play to end the game and you give up a shortie to tie and then lose in OT.

Just wow

This series could take this rivalry to new levels in the coming seasons. Game 6 will be a slobber knocker.

I have decided today that I will root for the Blackhawks to win the West and possibly the Cup depending on if the Habs make it or not.

My decision is based on the fact that if they win the Cup or come close it will just make the Wings/Hawks rivalry that much better. I hate the Hawks but only because they have in my mind been our biggest rival. It would make games fun knowing that we are going up against the Defending Cup Champs.

So go Hawks. Hopefully you can overcome Hossa's invisible man act.
JoeyJoJo
No, you can't root for your biggest rival. That's against sports law or something.
dEv~
Gotta agree with JoeyJoJo. As much as it may add to the Caps/Flyers/etc rivalries I could not bring myself to root for them. It's just more fun to make fun of them for being cupless. (or at least since the 70's)
SBriand
See I don't look at rivalries like that. I want to see two teams with success that meet up 6 times a year and lay it all on the line. When the Hawks were crap that intensity wasn't there. It was just an easy 4-6 wins on your schedule. The more success the Hawks have the more intense the rivalry will grow making games in Oct even more exciting.

I have friends in Chicago and I have gotten some shit this weekend and I have given them shit for years and them winning the cup doesn't change any of that and all it does is make the games more fun for all of us.

Feel free to take my Fan card away, I don't really need it as it's not a tangible thing.

Niemi is playing so much better than Nabokov. Congrats on getting both games in SJ.

I don't think the Sharks have a shot in hell of coming back from this.

Bink!!

This win is big for the Hawks, where as a loss wouldn't really matter much. Good way to demoralize them. smile.gif

Ya, how sick is 7 straight playoff road game wins in a row.

You see why I thought the BH's would be a favorite in the series now, yes? They're simply a better team than SJ.

Oh I thought so too, but I figured I'm probably biased.

I assume dumb ass Bodog will have the BH favored at home like they did for the Sharks, even though we're 7-1 on the road and 3-3 at home.

Probably. Those stupid ass sports books going off millions of data points instead of a cherry-picked 14-game sample.

Millions huh?

It's also not a 14 game sample, they've been better on the road the entire season, and beat the sharks 3 out of 4 games. Seems to me like they're going off a 2 data points... 1 seed + home team = favorite.

I mean, I'm not complaining, I won money because of it.
