Khavartalnov or something like that, from the Bruins at some point in time...
TheDaveyG
Big surprise here

Unless Price becomes the starter in Montreal, I don't think any Rookie of the Month awards are going to be leaving Chicago.

No points for Toews tonight.

meh, 10 in 10 is good enough. Time to start going for Stastny's now. At least they won in St. Louis.
TheDaveyG
Talk about a letdown.

They made such a big deal a week ago about this, and then we get 7!! home games. Don't get me wrong, it's a start and it's better than none, but 7? I don't care if it's being broadcast on some obscure channel with the other team's announcers, I just want to see the games. I wonder if we can get all home games with CenterIce?
TheDaveyG
It was so much fun to watch a home Hawks game tonight! They looked really good tonight, and the defense played surprisingly good. The Wings have 4 losses this year, 3 against the Hawks and one against the Ducks.
sinc
Could you send Pat Kane back to London already, I hear hes a bum and has been a huge bust so far... icon_frown.gif

ANOTHER sick goal by Toews...... the kid can shoot...
TheDaveyG
Should be a fun game tonight against the Oilers. The Toews/Kane/Ruutu line has been going through a rough patch lately, but that's expected of a young team. Power play still looks good, and their 10 short handed goals is just crazy. They have some forward injuries that are making it tough, but Havlat should be back soon. The word is out on the Hawks though, and it's a very exciting time again in Chicago for the hockey fans.
TheDaveyG
I'll take the point considering the Hawks were without Sharp, Ruutu and Williams. Samsonov at least looked a little better and it's good to have Koci back.

Why was Yanic Perreault in the shootout? Come on!

Why wasn't Sharp playing, and why didn't I know about it!? His possible replacement would have won me my game tonight.

The flu bug is making it's rounds around the Hawks club house.

Hopefully Sharp, Ruutu and Williams play. The final game of a 6 game road trip.

I like Perreault in a shoot out. He hasn't put huge numbers up in the NHL but he did score like 70-80 goals in the QMJHL in one season.
I think he is a very underrated player.

I am assuming Toews was going to shoot 3rd. Of course he wasn't needed.

I'm taking a Chicago trip right after New Years and will be seeing my first live game of hockey for any Western Conference teams. It's the Detroit at Chicago game on the 6th of January and I'm pretty stoked for it.

Welcome back Marty! Blackhawks 5 Lightning 1

Having Havlat back really make this Blackhawks team scary. Which line are you going to put your shut-down guys on? Havlat - Lang - Williams, or Toews - Kane- Sharp? Go ahead, pick your poison.

I'm sure you can find someone who will give you a real good deal for him. Someone who already has forward depth.

What a start...BOOM BOOM BOOM..

3-0 in the first 5 minutes..

WOW and WOW..

5-0 after a half period..
TheDaveyG
Second home game on local TV, I guess they wanted to put on a show. RIP $$$$
TheDaveyG
Big game for the Hawks tonight against the Rubber Duckies.

They finally had to put Williams on the IR, and Savard has put Byfuglien on the top line with Havlat and Langer. Hopefully Tazer and Kaner can break out of their little funk and start scoring again.

I can't wait until next Saturday, going to the Sabres-Hawks game.

I'm having a bit of a moral dillema about the game though, can't decide if I should wear my Drury jersey or my new Patrick Kane...

I think I have to support my boys in blue though, so it'll have to be the Drury.

Come on, you HAVE to wear the Kaner. I look forward to getting Toews and Kane's autographs tomorrow at a signing.

Typical offense for defense trade

"We wanted a high energy player for our fourth line and Ben Eager is that kind of player,” Tallon said. “He is just 23 years old, he can skate and he is a very gritty player*

Dave, you think Eager replaces Koci in lineup?
I think this hurts Koci...Im assuming they were only using him at fwd anyway.

(got Koci in a pool, need his pims)

I like Koci, but he's a weak skater. He's been working with Dan Jansen(?), the Olympian, at improving his skating but they still view him as a liability on the ice. When he hasn't been in the lineup, teams have really pushed us around, so Eager may be replacing Koci until he (hopefully) improves his skills. Adam Burrish has the mentality to be a "gritty player," but he's not big or strong enough to protect Tazer and Kaner every night. Same with Wisneiwski and Byfuglien. IF they keep Koci, Eager and Burrish around for a couple of years and then bring in Aliu, then watch out Philly cause we're gonna be one bad ass team.
TheDaveyG
A great win for the Hawks last night against the Senators. Hopefully Havlat's injury isn't too serious. The Hawks are now 5-0 against the Wings and Senators.
TheDaveyG
Ouch, Toews to miss about 4 weeks with a knee injury. They looked like crap against the Kings after he went out of the game. Hopefully they are being a little on the cautious side.
I truly believe this team has playoff potential when healthy, but right now they are looking more and more like the Rockford Icehogs.
TheDaveyG
New things to report in Hawk-Nation:

A. Keith has been named to the All-Star team. This is kinda surprising because I thought Sharp was going to make it from the Hawks, but with Keith's play and the amount of ice time he's logged, he deserves it.

B. Sopel has been signed to a 3-year ext. I like this move, and it shows that he's having a very positive effect on the younger rearguards.

C. The Hawks have traded Johansson to the Panthers for a 09 7th round pick. He's wasn't fitting in here.

That is all. Enjoy the games tonight!

Yes, from what I hear.

Don't know specifically about a black Hawks jersey, though.

TAZER should be back today!

Alright, so Toews is back and they scored 7 last night against the Bluejackets. Tonight is going to be a tough test against a hot Radulov and the Preds. The offense looks much improved now that Toews is back.
