As much as I know you guys want to win the division, I'm really hoping for a Chi/Van first round series after the game tonight.

I would like the Canucks chances better against Chicago then CBJ.

The Canucks don't run goalies or cheap shot Willie Mitchell's at the end of the game. Byufglien is a clown.
Suited_Up
Well, if they win the first round of the playoffs and happen to go 7 games in Rd 2. I got tix.

I went for the longshot one on purpose to justify that I shouldn't be spending the money.

Mitchell just likes to stick his knees out at passing players and Burrows likes to grab hair like a chick.
WestcoastCanuck
I have no idea what you are talking about with Mitchell. Burrows was just reminding Keith it is 2009. Time to cut those locks.

You can do it boys....GO HAWKS

No, but I can say playoffs. Ask the Flames about free falling.

the interview with toews as everyone was going nuts about clinching a playoff spot... that's something I would remember for a long time as a bhawks fan.
strategy's_touch
how about that bolland picking off the pass to set up havlat?
Zach6668
You know what's crazy, that I thought about today?

Havlat led this team in points, spending the vast majority of the season on the "shut down" line, with Bolland and Ladd.

He's an absolutely amazing and dazzling player when he's healthy.
TheDaveyG
It's nice to get the first one out of the way. If this game had been on the road, then I feel like the Hawks get blown out. Crowd was great, and I think Ladd was the unsung hero of the game. Had some nice hits and drove to the net.
WestcoastCanuck
You gotta love the story of Martin Havlat. If he plays another full season he will be better than Hossa.

What?
Zach6668
Havlat is very good. I remember him in Ottawa way back, and his skill level was unreal. The injuries really hurt his public perception, I think. Good to see him come back with a strong season. I'm still amazed that he led the Hawks in scoring from what was essentially a 3rd line/shutdown line with Ladd and Bolland almost all season.

Did he and Hossa ever play together on Ottawa?

I'm thinking no; Hossa was on the first line and Havlat was on the 2nd/3rd lines.

edit: Did some poking around the hfboard's archives wasn't able to dig up much (I think Havlat was injured most of the last year he was in Ottawa):

So Havlat (might have been used on the PP)

I really like this conversational tactic.
TheDaveyG
Looking good so far. The team is adjusting to playoff life faster than I thought they would. It's also nice knowing that they don't have to win one of these games in Calgary.

HF and a bunch of other websites had him listed as a pure checking forward. watch his work on the powerplay this game and tell me that is anything close to accurate...
