I'm pretty sure he'll be a forward. If injuries plague the defense then they might move him back, but he's listed as a forward on the Blackhawks' roster.

At least we got our first point of the season. Havlat had a good game, Toews almost had a goal like the one against the Avs last year. I'd like to see them be a little more physical, MUCH less sloppy with their clearing passes, and PLEASE put the shots ONTO the net. A fun game, and great seats.

Heartbreaking and yet not suprising. He did not get his contract extended over the summer. When they hired Bowman, the writing was on the table. Tallon won't last unless they make it to the Stanly Cup finals.

I give the Wirtz's credit...it seems like they are showing everyone they want to win the Cup.

The timing of it is really strange. I guess they did not want to kill the buzz of all of the recent moves ( TV for all games, the summer pickups and signings, huge increase in season ticket "reservation holders").

Savard is and will always be a class act. Just makes you wonder if HOF'ers make good coaches??

I will have to admit, I dont know much about Q. All I heard on the radio this morning is that he can't get his team out of the first round of the playoffs.

laurie never gave him any teams that stood a real chance aside from the 00-01 blues, which was promptly dismantled for unknown reasons after they lost in the conference finals. blues fans accuse him of attempting to play the trap and turtle with leads, but we'll see if any of that has any merit in the next few games. I think he is capable of doing great things in chicago, but I do not like the firing of savard at all...

It's been a while for this thread, time to bring it back.

First off, the Hawks are running really good lately. 4 wins in a row and no regulation home losses yet. Tonight they honor Pierre Pilote and Keith Magnuson who both wore number 3. Well deserved for both.

On a side note, who's the dumbass who left Sharp off the ballot for all-stars?

in the fchl 2 i actually own both players but how can you not love a guy who has been told he wouldnt make it at every level. was told he was too small, got moved to d for a while then put up almost a ppg and 200 pims in the ahl last year. what a star.

Similar story with Grabovski...He was told that he wasnt good enough to make the top 9 forwards on the Montreal team.

The same Montreal team that has scored 6 goals in the last 4 games. He has more goals than any one of those guys..The only one that is close is Tanguay, who wasnt on the team..

His line gets the call against the other teams top line most shifts. The Byfuglien-Bolland-Ladd line has played very well and has had some amazing shifts keeping the puck in the O-ZOne and creating chances. They just work hard all the time. That doesn't always stand out on the scoresheet and doesn't make you a fantasy stud. It does make you a fan favorite tough. Buff does see power play time, sometimes as a forward with Toes and Kane, sometimes as the point on the second unit. Q in still working things out. Last night against Phoenix was interesting as Q benched Sharp and Kane for most of the second period for taking offensive zone penalties when the Hawks were on a power play.


I can't wait for 6:00 on Saturday!!! I will be burning a small pile of leaves before the game for fun.
