So idiot me rented this without knowing that it is a sequel.
I still haven't watched it.... can I watch it without seeing the 1st one, or do I have to go back to the video store?

I'm about to watch the second one right now also, but I have seen the first, and I'm pretty sure its a continuation on that, so probably do not watch it before the first.
Go to www.movieforumz.com and I'm sure they will have the first one on there for you to watch for free.

Stab your eyeballs out instead, you'll be a lot happier than you would be if you watch 28 days later.

Agreed. A nice fresh look at Zombie horror. No more slow moving zombies FTW! 28 weeks later can be okay as a standalone but watching both is the best route.

you didn't like it? I thought it was pretty cool, although I thought it seemed to drag a little and get a little weird once they got to that fort or mansion or whatever it was with the military.

28 Days Later rocked, I got the DVD. I havn't seen 28 Weeks Later yet but I'm looking forward to getting to it. My GF is huge in to horrors so I've been forced in to this genre for the past like 5 years.

Sooo lucky. I am an avid horror movie watcher but my wife gets scared too easily and refuses to watch them, except zombie movies. Tuesdays I don't have to be into work till noon so Monday night she goes to bed and I say up and get my horror movie fill.

I liked 28 Days Later, but I haven't seen 28 Weeks Later. I always get 28 Days Later confused with 28 Days, the Sandra Bullock movie. She also did Two Weeks Notice, which I'm sure I'll get confused with 28 Weeks Later and commit Murder by Numbers.

I saw it with a couple of friends so they explained some things for me. But I don't think it would be too hard not to follow with out seeing the first one. But I liked it, so we should both see the first one anyways.

I had a mod delete it because I gave too much information out about her, it would be easy for anybody to find out who she is. I didn't want her to find out I started a thread about her lol. Anyways, I met up with her once again sober and had a couple drinks, she didn't seem interested so I kind of gave up on her. I held a conversation well with her and everything, but she seemed over it the whole time. I'm sure if I found her drunk again (small town could easily happen) that I might have a chance. But overall, a loss for me.

I really like the first one. It was a great re-invigoration of the whole doomsday/zombie genre. I'm getting ready to watch the 2nd I'll let ya know in a couple hours.
1st one was superior. The 2nd seem to struggle toward the end to maintain direction or plausibility in some areas. Maybe if they would have set some things up a little better toward the beginning or middle it wouldn't felt like it was unraveling toward the end.
On the plus side, they did very well with keeping me tense in many areas but the overall direction and story just wasn't near as good as the original.

If you haven't seen 28 weeks later, the opening scene will shock you. Oh, and the sister in the movie is hot. Don't worry, shes 18.

I just watched this yesterday. It was good I probably liked the first one better though. Agree about the sister being hot.
