Hero - $50 - pumped up a buy in and have been playing pretty tag the whole game. Haven't shown down a single bluff all night (not to say I haven't bluffed, just no one knows)

BB Villain - $25 - TAG player, capable of making plays. Solid player who knows his stuff. 6 tables 50nl daily on Stars.

Preflop:
Hero has A icon_suit_spade.gif , A icon_suit_heart.gif on the BB.
Folds to SB Villain who completes, Hero makes it $1. Villain calls.

Pot: $2
Flop: A icon_suit_diamond.gif , 8 icon_suit_club.gif , 2 icon_suit_heart.gif

Villain checks, Hero checks.

Pot: $2
Turn: A icon_suit_diamond.gif , 8 icon_suit_club.gif , 2 icon_suit_heart.gif , 10 icon_suit_heart.gif

Villain checks, Hero bets $1.50, Villain calls.

Pot: $5
River: A icon_suit_diamond.gif , 8 icon_suit_club.gif , 2 icon_suit_heart.gif , 10 icon_suit_heart.gif , 6 icon_suit_heart.gif
Villain bets $3.25.

Do you really think raising this river is necessary/proper? Is flat calling too weak? I checked the flop partially because this player thinks that when I don't cbet that I usually have missed and is willing to put me on a move for the rest of the hand and pay me off if I start to get active (he's also known to stick in a raise when my line doesn't make sense). I just feel like it's possible that the villain might have backdoored a flush. Is a value raise with a fold to a reraise in order?

I detest your flop check.

Call the river.
