When is Forsberg going to play? I know he may be rusty, but it is go time for the Avs. They are still out of the playoffs, there is no time for tuning up.
not for 10 days, he'll play the last 15 games barring injury.

Terrible officiating yesterday. I didn't realize that the Aves liked to dive so much and run so many interference/picks. The Aves did pour it on in the third though but the referee's still sucked.

I really think people are underestimating footes impact + the return of all those injured guys.
This team was still in contention missing their 3 top offensive players, not to mention they add forsberg there. Salei is a solid depth D man too. I'm fairly confident they are playoff bound, and I'm pretty sure nobody is going to want to play them.
I think this is what a lot of people are failing to realize. Sure, they are out of the playoffs now. But Smyth and Sakic were both on for more than 2 months, And Stastny was out for about a month. So we've added Sakic, Smyth, Stastny, Forsberg, Foote and Salei. And the only player we had to give up was Skrastins(sp?) Who was a good Defensemen but I'll certainly take Salei and Foote over him.

I was only able to see the final 5 minutes of the 3rd and the OT period. This could very well be the game that jump starts us into a finish like last year. It sooooo nice to see Foote back in an Avs uniform. Foote knows his role is the same as it was last time he was with the Avs. He is basically in charge of covering the best offensive player on the opposing team. Look at last night; Foote was on the ice for the vast majority of Iginla's shifts.

That was a painful body check to watch. Definitely looked painful but at least Johnson laid a clean one. Just too bad Smyth after coming back from his ankle injury. Did anyone else see the stretcher that he got pulled out on? That thing was a sled and was being pulled by 2 strings.

Yeah, sounds like he'll be ok. Can't find any update on Svatos though, his knee bent in a nasty way, hopefully they are both back on the tie soon
edit-damnit
The Colorado Avalanche Hockey club announced today that forwards Ryan Smyth and Marek Svatos will be out indefinitely after suffering injuries in the second period of last night’s game against the Los Angeles Kings.
Smyth was released from a local hospital Saturday night after CT scan results on his head were negative. He regained consciousness on the ice following a collision with the padded partition near the Avalanche bench.
Svatos suffered a knee injury when he collided awkwardly with the boards in the corner of the Kings’ zone.
Both players will undergo further examination over the next few days with the Avalanche medical staff and a more precise diagnosis of their injuries will be known at that time.

Theodore is certainly part of it..it's the fact that each of the 3 times we only allowed 1 goal the entire game...so it's both our goalie and our defense both of which have been VASTLY improved. They each make each other better and right now they're both rocking..so lets hope it keeps up. I lay it all at the feet of Theodore, Finger, Mcleod, Selai (the deal everybody ignores but that I think had the most impact surprisingly), Hannan, and Footer (when hes not hurt).
1 goal means nothing to us..we can come back on those all day.

I almost feel asleep even listening to the game on the radio. Nice to see Theodore rebounded from the Dallas game. The first ATL goal was pretty fluky, and the 2nd one was a bad turnover by our defense that lead to a 2-1 for them, can't expect Theodore to stop it everytime

Calgary SHOULD HAVE won. A game against Atlanta. Should be insta-win right? Flames up 3-0. Ok victory for SURE now. Crap 3-2all of a sudden. No worries 4-2 now so Flames should've learned and now they'll play tight defense. Nope. Atlanta scores 4 in a row and take it 6-4. Idiots. Most frustrating game to watch ever.
