So I watched the premiere and it seems like this show could be really interesting. Basic premise: Cop is convicted of murder, spends 12 years in Pelican Bay Correctional Facility (a true gladiator academy), eventually is cleared and wins a huge settlement a part of which is him getting re-instated as a detective.

The character is quirky but good. He's got real fascination with zen and a penchant for fresh fruit. A potential downside is if they run the technology has advanced jokes into the ground. It was ok for an episode, and maybe a few sprinkled through the season, but they can't hang the show on that for comic relief.

Ever since I saw Band of Brothers I've had a great respect for the abilities of the show's lead: Damian Lewis. His part in this is enough for me to want this show to make it, but I think it could be very interesting how the dual story line (his original case plus whatever case he catches that week) works out.

As one reviewer put it on imdb:

"...a cop drama that had substance in it. charlie crews stroke me as the DR HOUSE of the cop drama world."

I enjoyed the premiere a lot. which means there is a 50% chance this show doesnt finish out the season.

Heh, I caught the last few minutes and the preview to the next ep and thought to myself, it's like House but a cop show. I tivo'ed the repeat on USA. Looks interesting and I agree I like the lead.

I can't help thinking any minute he is going to turn his head real quick and speakin a different voice.
