A guy, 22, wants to have sex with a girl who's 16. I'm the dad of a 1 year old daughter. I am worried about her enough as it is, but I cant think of how much I'd worry about this if this was my daughter. I'm angry about this guy doing this, am I right to be angry? What would you do if your daughter was in this situation?

As a parent, it is disturbing. We never want to think of our kids having sex and we prefer for them to ideally wait until they are married, in love and at least 30 years old.

BUT unfortunately, our wish is far from reality. We forget how we were like at this age. I lost my virginity at 13. At 16, I dated guys in their early 20s all of the time. When I did not put out, they dumped me. Luckily, even though I lost my virginity at such a young age, I realized I was too young and did not have regular sex until I was 17. However, that was with a 24 year old guy.

I always find it weird how once a guy becomes a dad and has a daughter that a paradox begins... if it were the other way around, the thought of your 16 year old son banging a 22 year old chick would you have the same reaction?

16 is a totally arbitrary number.
I mean, one could argue that the human psyche isn't fully developed until one is in their late 20's. Should we prohibit 23 year old women from having sex and if not, when why 16 year olds?

Based on my own experiences in life with men and women, I absolutely believe the age of statutory consent should be somewhere around 14 and leave it to the parents to educate their dependent kids on the morality of it all.

Making 18 years old some magical number is offensively arbitrary not to mention directly opposite of fundamental human nature (since there isn't a man alive who is attracted to a girl 18 years and 1 day old that isn't just as attracted to her at 17 years and 364 days)

As to the question at hand, I dunno.

I've been attracted to 16 year olds after I turned 25, and have had many an opportunity to express that attraction since my bluster isn't just an internet thing, but based on my real life awesomeness and good looks.

FWIW, I have a 19 yr old daughter and, yes, I'm joking around...for the most part.

I'm 21 and in college and I know many girls from my home town that are 16-17-18 years old and look like 23. Women mature a hell of a lot faster than men as far as looks compared to age.
