Oh... and if you never heard of The The and you don't want to download, they have a juke box so you can check out their songs.

You have to listen to Kingdom of Rain off of the Mind Bomb album. You can hear why Sinead O'connor was once considered an up and coming artist. Too bad, she got a little wacky.

All I can say is Thank you for the fun week of music OP. I really had fun with this post. :-)
adamkadmon
if you like this type of music there is no one better than, Paco de Lucia. He is the king of flamenco and no human should exist without having heard him.
On a harder edge note, Matt Pike, who used to play in a band called Sleep and now plays for his own band, High On Fire, really rocks. It's kinda guy music, in that you can not play with any more emotion than any one of these guys. Matt claims to be the loudest band in the world and I would agree.
Feeling mellow? Nina Simone always does the trick for me. Good Love making music as well.

Anything by Godspeed You Black Emporer. I'd give you the song names, but if you try to download them you'd come up with something different (they bunch their songs into big, long tracks on their albums). Just search for the band name, or buy their albums like I did. They rock.

Broken Social Scene-Anthems for a seventeen year old girl

Explosions in the sky-Magic Hours

Jim O'Rourke-Ghost Ship in a Storm

Mogwai-Christmas Steps (I just picked this song out of the air. All their songs are legendary)

Sigur Ros-Staralfur

The Album Leaf-Hungry for a Holiday

Basically when I play poker I listen to Celtic music or nature like birds, the sounds of the ocean or a babbling brook . I also listen to the Lord of the Rings soundtracks. Anything that keeps me calm and has the tendency to keep my temper in line. LOL.
