Has anyone of you read the book. I loved it really. I only have some problems with the Stack to Pot Ratio Strategy. Has anyone else read the book. How did you find it?

I'm about halfway through. I'm not impressed yet, but it's pretty hard for poker books to impress me now.

I think it's a lot more different than many people play here. If you call with AK on 23K Board having deep stacks, anyone here in this forum would tell you to raise. The book tells you to just call, because of pot control. I think you dont make friends in this forum by playing the way the book recommends. But I love it nevertheless.

Most of the hands posted here aren't with deep stacks. If we're going to get essentially stacked by one bet on the river anyway, then there's not much we can do for pot control.

Being cautious with TPTK in a deep game isn't something new or controversial.

You're absolutly right... I just ment those "I raise to define my hand players"...

But back to topic. I really like the "Commitment Treshold". Saying that when you have 10% of your stack in, be careful, was really new to me. Shame on me, but I learned a lot from this theme.

I would recommend this book not only for this theme, but it really helped me.

I really liked the book but have had a lot of trouble applying it at the table. The biggest thing for me is the constant - am i committed - that I ask myself.

One of the minor things I really liked but again have trouble applying is varying your pre-flop raises based on SPR because your opponents aren't likely to be able to interpret what your raises mean. Always raise to 3X PF is one of those WAY over used rules.

I am pretty sure the book says bet the flop with ak on k23 - but think about checking the turn~ i still think this is the best NL book out there right now ~

after reading this book ~ i watched HSP and i was catching things i had missed before ~ also some of the remarks Gabe makes - starts to really click.

Unlike any other 2+2 its well written and the concepts really jump off the pages and into your head - this book is a must have for people who want to "KILL" live poker .
