OSU shouldn't be #1, they haven't beat anyone. And if they don't play some quality opponents they might drop in the computer rankings. You better hope Michigan stays in the top 25 for that matchup or a lot of people are going to be questioning how good OSU really is.

USF already beat Auburn and West Virgina, they could stop playing games right now and will end up with more quality wins that OSU will even have a shot at this year.

OSU has beaten Akron, Washington, Northwestern, Minnesota, Purdue and Kent State. Wins over BCS ranked teams = 0

USF has beaten Elon , Auburn, North Carolina, West Virginia, Florida Atlantic and UCF. Wins over BCS ranked teams = 2 (WV - 9th & Auburn 17th)

See schools in bold print above. No one but the number 1 team in the nation can touch either of those schools. You know it; I know it.

OSU should be #1 because they have been the only team in the country to dominate every opponent. They have won every game by 16 points or more, and only one opponent has scored more than 7 points against them. South Florida has played a tougher schedule, but hasnt been anywhere close to as dominant.

Also, Ohio State wont drop in the computer rankings since their remaining opponents are 25-10. They are absolutely guaranteed a spot in the title game if they remain undefeated.

If Im not mistaken this was the argument last year when OSU barely beat a decent Michigan team and destoryed every other team....We all know what happpened in the Championship
Its OK OSU will be beaten in one of the next 5 games (probably @ Michigan) and there wont be much to worry about

When OSU beats a top 25 team and holds them to 7 points or less let me know.

When Ohio State played at Purdue they were undefeated, ranked, and averaging 45 points a game.


The reason Im not convinced about South Florida is that both of their big wins were flukes.

Against Auburn they won the turnover battle 5-0 but still only won by 3. Based on that stat, Auburn is pretty likely to be the better team.

Against West Virginia, they only won the turnover battle by 2, but were outgained by over 150 yards. Also, Pat White didnt play the second half. This also seems like something of a lucky win.

In case you are wondering, USFs turnover margin for the other 4 games is only +2 total(.5 average), so they were extremely lucky to get such great turnover margins against the 2 best teams they played.

Michigan was crushing Purdue 48-7 before putting in 3rd stringers in the 4th quarter and letting Purdue get couple garbage touchdowns. So does that make Michigan better than OSU?

Washington and Purdue are not top 25 teams right now, and early season rankings are a joke as evidenced by my comparing the rankings now to what they were at the beginning of the year. By the end of the year, OSU will be lucky to have a win over any team in the BCS top 25, USF could end up with 5.

Heard a great Buckeye story from a friend of mine. His son is a die hard buckeye fan but lives and works in Detroit.

He was golfing with a friend up their when he thinks he hears a guy in the distance say O-H, but it was faint and he just kept golfing. A little bit later he heres it again, louder this time, O-H. He yells back, I-O.

In a couple minutes four guys walk over the hill, three in Michigan shirts and 1 in a OSU shirt. The guy in the OSU shirt tells him he just won him a huge amount of money in abet with the others and hands him four tickets to this years Michigan OSU game.
