I think I should have raised the flop. On the turn I should have bet when checked to.

Play more aggressively overall when you hit a flop like this. You have what might be the best hand and even if it's not, raising may fold out better hands or you can still make the best hand.

Raise the flop every time.
When he checks the turn, you should bet it.
On the river, I think I put in a small raise, maybe to $1.80 or so.

You have position. Use it.

Raise the flop, bet the turn - you're def not getting as much value from this hand as you could have.
