This happens when we play J7 a lot. Since it was limped, limped PF, I don't know what else you could have done.

You've merely been cold-decked.

I can't see how you can get away from this. BBFIDTS comes to mind, since I can't see anyone proposing a +EV situation where you can get away from this hand (either pre- or post-flop). There doesn't seem to be much strategy advice to give on this topic...only to say that it happens once in a while in poker.

Not a whole lot OP can do 3 handed and flopping a straight with a redraw to the straight flush. It happens, it sucks.
