Ok so i have read alot of the 30 big blind rule for no limit, but what about limit poker with antes such as stud. I have read about how soft the games are on stars and i am getting ready to get back into the game after a long hiatus. I am going to start small and try to build from the low limits 0.04/0.08. Oviously the banroll for these limits does not need to be huge, but any advice on the required roll to move up at each limit would be appreciated. Thanks all

300 BB is pretty standard for limit games

depending on the style you play and your winrate, 200BB is fine for most split pot games, including stud8, if you're playing properly.

br reqs depend more on your style of play than 2+2 would have you believe. generally, more aggressive play is going to be higher variance, and more conservative play is going to be lower. i mean, you can play a style of plo that is willing to inflate pots to where shoving every 40% shot is correct on the flop, or you can keep pots small until you make the nuts. either is entirely valid and could conceivably be an optimally winning style, but they would have profoundly different br requirements.

i play a boatload of stud/lo and the stars games are not as juicy as the FTP games (IMO).
anytime you play 2-4(stud8) and higher its the same old faces, much nicer action on FTP plus the rakeback ..
