Well, forum title, but same difference, yeah. smile.gif

I picked up Season 3 yesterday and watched one commentary and the first disc deleted scenes. The value is sick...my guess is that's there's the equivalent of 8 episodes worth of deleted scenes in the collection...and they're all hilarious.

I feel like this is directly related to your frustration with girls thread. You are going to have very high standards depending on how old you are and they are going to be extremely hard to meet for the woman you're looking for.

To Cobalt the "depending on age" thing I said just meant the older you are the less realistic it is to find a girl that has the same standards as you.

LOL. I mean that literally makes me laugh out loud. I joke around about being scuzzy and stuff but I haven't slept with many girls and my standards are pretty high for dating a girl. But yours are just so hard to attain, even if you found such a girl she'd probably be very annoyed you had such a predetermined list of qualities that she wouldn't be interested.

To me, having a list like that is stupid. Women aren't computer programmed. You'll find some that just don't fit into what you've laid out but they are intriguing to you for whatever reason and that will be all that matters.

Things I'm not very flexible on with my gfs. They need to have slept with less people than me. They can't do illegal drugs, but I don't care if they used to. They have to be social and go out occasionally (which means they must also consume alcohol I guess).

Your standards are something we should all aspire to.

His standards are fine. It's not like he's gonna tell a girl those things or anything, he just knows what he's looking for. I have a similar mental checklist that I use and it's pretty extensive as well. Of course, I don't sleep around and I've been with my current GF for almost a year, the one before that was over 2 years and the one before that was 2.5 years.

I deleted the ones that I think are fairly normal and make your list too exhaustive, I think it's normal to want to be attracted to your gf, have them like you, and them to be a good person.

These ones are weird to me, but that's because religion means nothing to me and as someone that is religious you are going to have much different thoughts about this than me. I think having the same political alignment is very overrated. Especially when your alignment of choice is moderate! I guess what it comes down to is I think its better to have a girl that isn't your twin in thoughts. It's good to disagree, and helps you put in perspective that two smart good people can have completely different outlooks on the same exact circumstances.

My standards for a GF are similar to Cobalt's. It's just I think I'd be extremely flexible. Sure I know what I like in a girl, but if I met a girl and loved her personality everything else just fits in. You can't control something like that, "wow I love everything about you but your economically aggressive?!!?!? Deal breaker."

I've had two long term gf's. One of 3 years, one of 2 years, and I currently have slept with the same girl for awhile but won't call her my gf cuz I'm weird/don't want her to affect my long term life decisions of where I choose to live.

While I don't necessarily agree with your logic that you want someone different than you (i think it's natural to look for people that you have that stuff in common with) I do share your sentiments on religion, but that's also becuase I'm a heathen who lives in Sin City. I don't know how it would work out to have the huge mental list of standards and then to throw in there "Christian" as well which basically cuts out so many people who might have worked out otherwise.

I guess I'm just happy that I was raised to do my own thing and that my mom decided to stop caring about being a Catholic after college.

Most of those things on the list would appeal to me...but if one or several are different, is it a dealbreaker? No.

If you are a Christian, then that should be your starting point. Also, worry about the money management compatibility. Let all the other standards take care of themselves. Most marriages dissolve over issues of sex and money. Handle those up front, and you'll have a great chance to develop a lasting relationship.

So, if you and your potential girl agree about the Christian views of marriage, you will agree about your views on sex, or at least you will have your minister to argue with about it. (No ... not kidding). And if you agree about money, then your arguments will be about smaller issues.

So I recommend that you start by looking around in a big church. Make friends with an old lady or two or more there. Make friends with old ladies everywhere. You'll be shocked how many hot chicks every old lady knows, has access to and credibility with, and how well they play matchmaker. They LOVE playing matchmaker. And they know what they're doing. Trust me, an old lady can find out more about any chick than the chick herself is gonna tell you in a year. Women have a massive social network, and they all either know or can find something out in a day or two.

Trust me, I know about this stuff.

hey how do you Christians feel about Catholics? just wondering up until a two years ago I was down in rural GA in a bar and someone asked me if I was a Christian and I said I was Catholic. After that they looked at me like I was some sort of leper. I don't really get it but then again I am pretty slow.

I don't know who usurped the term Christian and decided it excluded Catholics.

I agree with you but people really seem to hate the pope. I think it has something to do with his hat.

Raise your hand if you went to Catholic school.

::raises hand::

Also, if you want an accurant count of people who have lost their faith, you can just use the same number of hands from above.

You might undercount.

Quite.
I'm pretty sure that I qualified that list with 'flexible'...with Christian being the only inflexibility. I dated a girl that wasn't a Christian for 9 months a number of years ago (she lied to me about it at the beginning of the relationship)...it didn't go so well.

Most of those things on the list would appeal to me...but if one or several are different, is it a dealbreaker? No.

You did qualify it with flexible, I took the assumption the the flexibility came with things such as "good teeth" and little things like that. Not so much on her views of the world etc. It would seem to me those were the most important and therefore least flexible, I may be wrong.

9 months is a long time for a non-Christian person to not have sex, although it's very possible that had nothing to do with your situation, I'm speaking from my experience here. I know cuz I dated a girl that was very religious and we basically broke up over the sex issue. She lost her virginity to me but it was very tough on her and she would go in and out of being mad at me and disappointed with herself and refusing to have sex again, etc.

That's why from my experience I think it's very important to have the same views on sex with someone that you want to be with, it really is a huge part of a relationship. If being Christian had nothing to do with sex, I assume I'd still be with her.

As someone that isn't religious it's weird to me that people that are religious don't want to be with people that don't share their faith. I thought Christianity was about forgiveness and acceptance. It should be those people that would be most inclusive, not exclusive, but it's quite the opposite.

Back to Cobalt's list of topics. A few of them had to do with American History, let's pop a convo about that, I love that stuff!
