The Monte Carlo is burning down!

LAS VEGAS, Nevada (CNN) -- Sections of the top four floors of the Monte Carlo Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas were on fire Friday.

Smoke rises from the Monte Carlo Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. Firefighters could be seen on the roof of the hotel. Most of the flames appeared to be coming from the southern section of the hotel. No injuries have been reported so far.

Black smoke was billowing into the air and was visible from more than a mile away, CNN producer Darian Billington said. He said traffic was backed up on the Strip, and crowds of people were gathering to watch the blaze.

The hotel has more than 3,000 rooms, including 211 penthouse suites, and conference rooms. The more expensive rooms are on the top floors. The hotel was built in 1996 for $344 million. It is in the heart of the resort corridor.

The Monte Carlo, a subsidiary of MGM Mirage, has about 3,000 employees.

Sometimes, I'd run into someone who just shoved 75% of their hands PF.

It's an interesting strategy.

I love it when they go on tilt. I played a few big pots, but won most of them. I probably played like 200+ hands during my lunch break and made a buyin. I'm happy.

I think I might have turned a corner, pokerwise.

Nice, hopefully that will blast off for you. I'm semi-interested in learning how to play HU. But I don't think I'm going to test the waters for quite some time. I want to get in 60k hands at $100 max before I do anything. And I'm not even to $100 max yet, haha.

The HU tourneys rock.
You get plenty of action.
You don't get short-stackers.
You don't get hit-and-runs.
And the players are generally not as good as they think.

I can't let this thread fall. Bump for upswings...also I'll attach some fun/interesting hands if I find them.

I was actually a little weak when I started playing, adjusting to everything being double. So my stats are pretty nitty, I want my stats to be like 20/17, but we'll see if I'm comfortable playing that way. They'd be even nittier if the deck hadn't smacked me in the face.

Edit: Also, WTF!!!!!! Bad Beat Jackpot rake is insane, I can't believe it. I better hit that thing like twice while I'm at this level, so I can break even.
tskillz187
Yawn... quads. I don't know if I played it great. I thought his most likely hands were KK-JJ or AK, come the river I wanted to kind of weak lead, hoping that KK, AK, and flushed would raise me.

This table was getting very chatty and people were fighting. Guy who minraises me is loose/passive but seemed to be on tilt. I don't really like to call these raises OOP, even getting odds, because it's so likely that they don't have anything big, so even if I hit there aren't implied odds. I called though, because I thought he was on monkey tilt, thus mucho implied odds.

Players at this level usually call me more loosely when I'm being aggressive, but don't reraise me often, they assume (I hope wrongly) that when they do hit just right that they'll stack me because I'm an aggro-donk.

With my messed up poker logic I feel like I got 5 outted on the turn. Then I called off without odds on the turn due to frustration, it would have been much closer to a correct call if my Ks were outs.

You really have to raise the flop bigger with the K9. I raise donkbets >90% of the time, but they will call if you don't raise enough. I make it $10.
