There was a lot of yelling. Mostly between me and my friend Adam, who was rooting for the Packers for the sole reason that he thought they'd stand a better chance of beating the Pats. My girlfriend was confused by the situation. Adam will be a Giants fan in 2 weeks.

Can someone explain to me how in the hell the Giants get the ball in OT, decide to run a trio of running plays to set up an EXTREMELY LONG FIELD GOAL that their kicker has basically shown he will not make, and get to win the game? It's typical Giants play: they miss the easy plays and screw up when they should succeed and then the minute you think "well, shit, this is never gonna work," they nail something awesome for the game winner!

Also, I'm more than a little bummed to get on stub hub and a multitude of other ticket sites to find that tickets are $3000+. If anyone knows of where I might get a more affordable ticket (like $1500 ish) then PLEASE let me know.

@ Acid - I know a few brokers but everywhere I look, tickets are starting around $3k just to get in.

wow i can't believe the giants are in the Super Bowl. if they only had a second decent receiver who didn't drop balls and Shockey healthy i think they could give NE a run. Opening Line is NE -14.

as for my wknd full of poker. well if fcking sucked balls. i lost 11 buyins this weekend and am now offically in the red for the month by 3 buyins. this could be my first losing month is around 1.5 years. i tried to sat into the sun million and played $36 dollar Sat 60 seat i go out in 67th. then play 400fpp rebuy 33 seats i go out in 39th. was short stacked in both and had AA and KK so had to play. i took the day off after that. was one of those days where every card that came was bad. turned flushes river auto 4 flushes. flopped sets to 4 flushes. was just a pretty big mess.

had one huge hand where i had built a stack to 300BBs and other guy had about 280BBs. Him limp UTG me raise Button QQ him call. Flop Q 6 2 (2 hearts). Him check, me bet, him raise, me call. Turn 6h him bet me raise him call. River 5 him check me bet him all in me call. Him flip 66 for 580 BB pot.

I doubled someone up on the river Sat night when I was holding TPNK because I thought he flopped a flush draw that didn't hit. Well, he did, but he turned and rivered two junky pair. This was just one more disgusting ending to a disgusting two months. Someone tell me why I can't fold? I need a break from poker. Oh, and out of my last 30 sets hit live, 6 have been good. Oh, and out of my last 20 combo draws on the flop, I've turned -0- and rivered one and didn't get paid.

And sports betting obv.

i feel ya. i'm very discouraged right now but seriously i think i lost 6 buyins to 3 outers or less when the money went in.

As soon as Favre threw the pic I knew OT was over... the game was over when GB couldn't jump on that punt late in the 4th... well... probably earlier than that because they just stopped moving the ball in the second half. Giants weren't playing bad defensively... but it was nowhere near as awesome to hold Green Bay to the yards they did... I think old man Favre just couldn't take the cold anymore.

How he made the kick? That's easy, three time's the charm. A lot of missed field goals are due to mechanics of snaps and holds getting screwed up. Length only amplifies mistakes... and well... they certainly had enough practice in game to finally get it down.

BTW, the first miss was the holder and the second miss was the snapper... the kicker always gets blamed for that stuff though...

I think Favre got cold, too. He didn't look good. And I don't mean in a football sense (which he didn't), I mean in a "mental" sense. There was a close up of his face in the 4th quarter and his expression was completely haunted. I'm curious if anyone else saw that?
