They have SnG's now? I was up there over the summer for the Heartland Poker Tour, don't recall seeing them, but, then again, I was also busy breaking even at 2/4.

The 1/2 game at that place are funny, but the 2/4LHE tables are even funnier. People play 10x worse.

And yeah, they have SnG's. I FT'd one last summer, but got donked out in 8th when I ran 77 into AQ twice in three hands against the same guy. First time he turned an ace and the second time he rivered it. Both times if I held up I would have been chip leader in final 7 with first ~3000. I was chip leader pretty much the entire tournament to that point after I flopped a set of nines on some other big stack halfway through who had Kings. I finished 8th and got 180 (I bought in for 120...). Pretty much the biggest waste of 5 hours ever.

But now, they changed the structure so everything is turbo, so all of the tables aren't in use or something. It's absolutely a shove-fest after about 1 hour.

Shall we compare stories? heh. Granted, I probably haven't played as much as you, but w/e.

Mine:

First live session: mostly folding, AA v AK, 55 v 44 on 543 board, won a few other small pots periodically. Walked away a $200 winner, left a $5 tip or so after the set/set hand (I'm such a nice guy)

Second trip to T. Stone (second live session):

I play a $50+$15 tourney, do well at first table, 3-bet shove 77 (I had opened with 77 3 times or so in the past 45 minutes, I wouldn't normally do this) into two callers who both had QJ (nitty guy directly to my left re-raised me), I survive by boating up against a straight. Switch tables a bit later, go very card dead. 400/800/75 level, UTG raises, I look at 6's, ship my 3875 in, miss 10 outs twice after a 587 flop. Go to a 1/2 game - 100 max. A few hands in, the aforementioned nitty guy from my tourney raises to $10 UTG, I look down at KK, make it $30, some idiot kid in LP calls, nit shoves, I call, idiot calls too. Nit has AA, idiot has K6, I don't get my one outer, go home right after.

My other two live sessions are covered in my other posts.

I don't particularly care to recount details, but if I had to estimate, in roughly 40 casino sessions of varying lengths and varieties (cash/tournament), I'm probably stuck $20k. (For the sake of comparison, I'm up $110k lifetime online.)

yes hangovers suck but since my last post i have taken 2 bong rips and i would have to say that i am now high and feel no longer hungover. i think i'm gonna play some pokah.

what really got my stomach in addition to the booze was the 1 chili/cheese dog, 1 steak/egg/cheese shmuffin, 1 bag of zesty party mix, 1 king size crunch w/ caramel bar, nachos grande that i split with my buddy which had chili/salsa/sourcream/onions/peppers/taco sauce and some other things, and 1L Dr pepper. Obv at 2:30 am.

Wow that'll do it. Not that I can say much, for almost two years it was standard operating procedure in college to go to Waffle House at 3 am every weekend.

lol, I'm so sick of buying my Dad golf balls... every effing year.

I decided, since I plan to be a baller by summer, that I'm gonna take him to the course of his choice, and just pay for both rounds, instead, have one of those father/son bonding things, lol. Sounds corny, but we don't spend much time together anymore, since he moved about 4 hours away.

Plus, it'll be an excuse to hit one of the country clubs, either in town here, or take a trip to one of the indian casino/golf courses in northern MN. I'm looking forward to it.

Puke. I wouldn't fold KK 6 handed against a regular in this situation, even for 200 bbs. Ever. Your hand is so disguised, and he could easily be threebetting a weaker hand than KK.

QUOTE (Naismith @ Monday, December 24th, 2007, 10:57 PM) *
Yeah, but I wasn't the one who raised him.

Because you didn't, you put yourself in a horrific situation. Casade could easily be threebetting the other guy with AK/QQ/JJ etc. Obviously, if he is aggressive (I'm not great with PT numbers but I assume most 2/4 players that are winners are pretty aggressive), than you're dropping a lot of equity by dumping this behind him. I'm going to guess that you probably did drop a winner here.
NoBBiR
OMG. I just posted strategy in BAW. *Suicide*
tskillz187
I don't think it's the worst fold ever. Meh. Kind of a crappy spot and the hand plays easier if you don't flat first raise. I think his 3-betting may only be QQ-AA by those low stats. Erring on the side of caution isn't ridiculous, but it is 5 handed and you have KK. It's just not something I could do, I'd think it's more likely someone is kind of tilting or overvaluing a hand less than KK over assigning his cards as exactly AA.

I don't even mind calling.

I told him that I think that even a tight range for that 4 bet over what looks like a squeeze is easily like AQ+ and TT+, which KK obviously crushes that range. Reraising seems bad, but he has to at least call here.

I kinda worked. I played basketball today. Some kid I was way better than in highschool dominated me. That was kind of embarrassing. Not sure if I care enough to get into shape though.

Am I missing any good oft-updated poker blogs anywhere?

Currently I read Shannon Shorr, JC Alvarado, and Terrence Chan pretty much religiously. Anyone else very fun to read?
