Alright, this is coming from a guy who has never dated anyone over the age of 19... no srsly...

Even if she seems intelligent, the missing life experience will make her seem dumb as hell at inopportune times. If she's 18 she knows nothing of the real world... so trying to take anything seriously, even a conversation, will be difficult to manage at best.

That being said...

Drink, smoke, and fuck, and it all stops mattering... as long as she isn't so inexperienced that she lays there like a fish.

God I hate virgins.

She's had quite a bit of experience...at least as much experience (if not more) than I'd had at that point. She's traveled the country and abroad to some of the countries I went to, she speaks French, she's got massive amounts of college credit, she worked as an editor for her school's lit/art collection, she lives off-campus, and she's read tons of books. Yeah, our "pop culture" references might be slightly off as she didn't watch much TV until this year, but so what? She's a quick study. It's not hard to take our conversations quite seriously...since I've never met a girl that seems to think on the same wavelength that I do. (Granted, the conversations still have plenty of humor.)

I drink (though I didn't really until I was 21); she doesn't. Not an issue for me though. I've never smoked (and don't care to), and I doubt she ever has.

And, I'm a virgin...and would hope that she is too. =P

Chances are you're going to get teh herp at some point anyway. Even if you're 40 and married, at some point you're gonna cheat on your wife with a hooker, or your wife is gonna have an extra-marital and get teh herp herself.

lol, whats the over/under on this one? NE is getting -1500 (money line) this weekend. I'm setting Marchant at -12,000 (15 years to cover).

I can't believe that this is being discussed, but a guy like Marchant is not a guy who's gonna get herpes unless he gets raped by his overaggressive boss. Since he's his own boss, I can't see this happening.

Depends on which 'the herp' he's talking about. If he's referring to genital herpes (HSV-2), it's probably unlikely. If he's referring to HSV-1, that's somewhat more likely (50-80% of Americans over 50 have it).

It is not true. Although technically we were all at Red Rock at the same time, yet Zach and Mikeysong didn't know where I was. There will likely not be a 2nd date.

Also, the update on Zach, who reiterates that he DOES NOT have a gambling problem:

I was playing at Caesar's when he landed Monday afternoon. He came by around 6:30 or so and didn't want to play poker but didn't want to play $15 table games either, so they headed to The Mirage, already slightly drunk, to gamble.

Fast forward to yesterday when I pick him up to go to Red Rock. He informs me that the following things happened after he left me on Monday:

1. He got very drunk (surprise)
2. He fell asleep at the blackjack table, yet did not get kicked out (Mirage on a Monday night, who are they trying to impress anyway?)
3. He lost the $2700 that he brought with him for the entire trip playing blackjack, pai gow and god knows what else.
4. He didn't sleep for like 40 hours

So a couple months ago, Absolute gave me $10 randomly (I hadn't played there in years). I didn't really do much with it. A couple of days ago, they gave me $10 more. I ran that $20 into $45 in about an hour of .05/.10 NL. I now have 100x more on Absolute than I do on Stars and FT combined.

Also, Sportsbook.com Poker (the people that bought out Paradise) gave me 2 Gold Chips as conversion for my ancient Paradise Points. If I had to guess, that's the equivalent of ~$1. I've turned those into 31 Gold Chips...which eventually can be used to enter tournaments to win money. Would be interesting to build a roll or win a package from nothing.

No, I'm not busto. (I have $13k on Bodog smile.gif ) I'm mostly playing these for both the challenge and relaxation. I can play them fairly care-free when I don't feel like playing for "real" stakes.

so my thought is that everyone saw the river card, the floor manager can simply go through the muck and pull that card out (away from the table so no one sees the mucked cards), put it back into the deck, have the dealer shuffle. I'm not sure about what to do with the betting aspect though...but since the River is void and the last bet was Player B moving all-in and needing a call, I feel technically Player A needs to act, then the rest of the hand goes on as usual.

edit: i see he put his ruling in there. what a terrible terrible move by the floor.

I don't understand why they couldn't just pick the river card out of the muck...everyone saw it, the manager could pull it without revealing the other cards to everyone (and also show the river card to the group to show it was the right card).

what casino is that? cause I'd never go there.
Temporary Nuts
My solution?

Let the player left to act make his decision while removing the card from play as if it were an exposed burn card. Deal a river card. Once the hand is said and done, empty the dealer's tip jar, take the rake from the hand, and split that amongst the losing players.
Zach6668
So, a couple interesting NL hands from today, that really do not require any strategy, so I'll toss them in here.

First of all, as we all know, I lost all my money playing pit games, cuz I rule the world. Mostly, it was due to have at least 40 drinks on no sleep, and no food. But I digress.

So I borrow $600 from Mikey for this 1/2 $300 max game at the Venetian. I sit down, and like my 6th or 7th hand, I'm dealt th.gif 9h.gif in the BB. Bunch of limpers, I check.

Flop is jh.gif qc.gif kh.gif

That's pretty good, right? I lead $8, one guy calls, this moron minraises to $16, I make it $60 to go, caller folds, and the other guy calls.

Turn is the 3h.gif

Ok, I hit my flush, but I went from the 2nd nuts to the 3rd nut flush and a lot more combos beat me. Oh well. I stick in a stack of reds, dude instacalls.

River is the 3s.gif

I imagine he's got a set/boat some portion of the time, but I've got $125ish left in a $330 pot, so I'm obv not going anywhere, so I stick it without much hesitation. He sighs, calls, and says, hope you didn't have a set on the flop, and flips over ah.gif 4h.gif. Sighhhhhhhhhhhh. So right away, I'm out half of my borrowed money.

I don't know why I run so bad at live NL. I've played maybe 4-5 sessions in my life now, and I'm probably down like 7-8 buyins. It's silly.

Another hand, I reraised with QQ huge, get two callers, lmao, flop is 567, one club, original raisers sticks it for a bit less than the pot with Tc7c, other guy folds, so I call, and he runs out clubs. Sigh.

So, anyways, I get stuck like $500 total, managed to work the shortstack a bit(which is so stupid cuz it's a ****en cash game, but between Mikey and I, we're down like 6 buyins in this game, and have no cash left to buyin with), finally I get troyomac to top me back up to $300, and I get AA twice in a span of maybe 30-40 mins, and flop top set each time, and get a bunch of action, but each time when I'd stick it, or make my big bet, they'd tank for ever and finally fold. Bah. Got me back up a bit, but I gave some back to troyo when I flopped top pair in a pretty big pot, I'll recount it next, cuz I actually think I did misplay it here.

So, I'm sitting on almost $500, Troyo covers.

Mikey makes it $10, Ray calls, I call, like 3 others call. I was 2nd last in terms of position on the flop, which comes jd.gif 7s.gif 5d.gif. I have qc.gif jc.gif, btw.

It checks to Mikey, and he checks, troyo leads for $40, which he had been doing a lot when the preflop raiser had checked to him, and I don't think he needed a strong hand here, even into 5 others, as he'd been playing quite lag, but playing very well. Anyways, basically, I go back to my limit training, and bump it to $120 because, with my reasoning being that I'd like to protect my hand vs the players behind me. Folds back to Ray and he calls. At this point, I think I'm probably done with the hand, as it's hard to tell if I'm ahead vs a flush draw, or behind vs a monster.

Turn is the 9c.gif, and Ray checks. I check behind. River is the 8s.gif and we check it down again. Ray shows 7d.gif 9d.gif and takes the pot down.

What do we think of my flop play here? Mikey is saying it should just be a call, and I probably agree with him. Ray should have stuck the flop, btw. Apparently, he read me for a massive nit, and assumed I never had worse than a set. biggrin.gif

=================

Anyways, back to more awesome hands.

Limped pot, like 6 ways, flop is 222, checks around, turn is a 9, checks around again, river is an Ace, putting three spades out as well.

Dude on my right leads for $10, I muck my jack high, lol, this other guy minraises to $20. This girl makes it $40 out of nowhere. Back to the dude on my right... he thinks, and calls $30 more. The guy on my left bumps it again, to $50 or $60 (I forget exactly), the girl sticks it for like $20 or 30 on top of that. Back to the dude on my right again... he calls AGAIN, and then the dude on the left eventually just calls (the girls shove was enough for him to reraise, IIRC).

Anyways... probably the funniest show down ever... dude on my left shows A3 for the boat... girl shows A9 for the boat... dude on my right shows a FLUSH!!! LMAOOOOOOOOOOO

===========

So anyways, this is my second NL session of the day today. I was stuck almost $500 the first session, and come back now after dinner with Mikey and Troyo, by myself to try to grind it out and make some back... so, naturally, I play for 2 hours and literally the only pot I win is the blinds when I have AA. Sigh. I had such a nitty image though, cuz I literally had J2o about 15 times in that span, and so on. Later, I ended up taking down a 6-way pot from the button when I bet with 2nd pair, lol. Big win for me there. Anyways, I'm stuck another $200 or so, and reload to the max, as usual (as mikey recovered a bit earlier, and gave me more money after dinner wink.gif).

I pick up 6s.gif 6c.gif on the button and limp along in a multiway pot. Flop is 56J rainbow, and that same dude from my left in the 222 hand bets out $10 and we get one caller. I bump it to $30, and he reraises to $60, and the caller folds.

I hollywood a bit, but decide what I'd rather do here. Since I'm in position, I'm calling and sticking it over his turn bet, since I have about $230 left, and he covers. Anyways, turn is a J, and he immediately sticks it for like 2x the pot, lmao.

I obviously instacall, since QQ is not in his range, and he never has JJ there.

He flips over QJ and somehow I hold, and finally get up on the day.

biggrin.gif

Those are my fun hands, and very long story that I'm sure none of you read. Peace!
