Imagine the irony if the Dolphins beat the Pats and spoil everyone's fun!
I think they're both on track to do it. Didn't this happen one other year, where the Dolphins were 0-5 and someone else was undefeated?

I'm pretty good with gambling now, guys. I still let loose and gambool on occasion, but it's only with money I can afford to lose.
If I come home from this trip with no cash, it won't be the end of the world, as it was a risk I was taking, for the pure enjoyment of it. I'm not gambling rent money or anything.
I've come a long way from my degeneracy that led me into this "career".
Fwiw, I only wanted to go to the Duluth Casino here, because I have a mini, completely impossible goal, of playing in as many casinos as I possible can, and figured I might as well get this one out of the way while I was here.

Well, i figured this would be an appropriate place to confess several sins i've committed recently...
First, my good run at live 1-2 is coming to an end. My TAG style that i've employed over my first 10-15 live NL sessions (with me bringing only one buy in with me) worked sorta well just starting out. Over my last 4 sessions though, I've been so swingy/playing bad/running bad. I'm bringing more money with me to the casino (to cap off my buy-in and in case i suffer a beat i could rebuy) and i think that I'm playing much looser than i should be, and in turn, playing worse.
I've played about 4 times in the last 3 weeks, with today being the last session and in those sessions i've gone -400, +600, -420, and -400 again. And i've only got one bad beat mixed in those four sessions.
Today, i did something even worse, which i have done a couple of times in the past. I took off a couple hours from my flexible job to chase some losses/prove to myself that i could play a little better than what i have been. Also, i didn't tell my wife about (which she would freak of course because she is only comfortable with me playing once every week or two, which is non-negotiable in her book). And i feel lousy that i couldn't control myself even though i've told myself in the past i wouldn't do it. And of course today, i take one of the most rediculous beats that hit me like a train. What happened was kinda of interesting too, I call with AK in the SB after PF raiser (who is a big donk) made it $15 PF. Flop is AK7 with one heart. I bet out $25 to build the pot, UTG raises to 50 and big donk calls, and i ship $75 more on top, UTG wisely folds and big donk calls with AhJx. I didn't even see the suits of the turn and river as i turned to look away, and as i look back down, the donk is already pulling my all-in money that i have right in front of me towards him. I'm thinking, "WTF? this guy is already grabbing my money as the river card hits? how?" I look up and as the dealer is pushing the four hearts on the board forward, my heart sunk. Then, as the donk is grabbing my all-in pot, he says to me "Its a flush, bud". Needless to say, i was on tilt, but managed to bite my tounge. After a credit card advance of $200 (i normally always leave my credit/debit cards at home) i continuted to play to try to redeem myself, sort of. After that, i just played LAG, and at the end i just told myself screw it. I gambled another $150 with the guy who sucked out on me previously, on a board of 2485 with two diamonds as i had AQdd and bricked. Another -400 gone.
.... i just had to vent. Thanks for listening to my rant guys. Right about now though, i feel like crap not for the way i played, but just the fact that i even played today. I'm pretty disappointed in myself right now.

MAV,
I'm not gonna lie, it seems like you might have a couple of problems here.
1. Poker should never be more important than any other aspect of your personal life, especially a marriage. If your wife isn't cool with you playing once a week or losing $400, you need to work on that with her and not sneak around and shit.
2. You should find a way to stay more even emotionally at the table. Tilt will kill you.
3. It also seems as if you might be playing a little outside of your bankroll. Maybe you should start playing online for smaller stakes where losing a buyin or two doesn't mean much to you.
4. Don't chase a loss to prove anything to yourself. Stay in the game if it's a profitable situation for you.
5. Credit card advances should not be used for poker I'm pretty sure

Yea, i agree with you. At this point its good to be honest with myself and to get honest feedback, no sugarcoating or anything.
I guess I'm ashamed for doing several of these things at the same time, and in turn, I have this feeling in my stomach that just won't go away.
I hate Credit card advances so much now....today was my first in about a year, and they are so -EV with their $40 transaction fee charges
As far as my bankroll, I've always been (with today being an exception) pretty aware of how much i can spend, and setting my limits. I only bring the amount of money that i'm comfortable losing. The two -400 sessions were acceptable to me in a sense because i didn't bring my credit card with me and i felt that most of those losses were geared towards making bad calls/plays and weren't tilt induced. I'm still up about 12 buy-ins in my very very brief career playing 1-2 NL, and the actual loss of -400 doesn't affect me much, but when i add the losses up, and then try to chase them, it tells me i've got a problem there.
A dilemma for me is that when my head is on straight, i generally make money with this game. But like today, when the urge to chase my losses overcomes my better judgement, i start to think to myself, is it better that i just quit while i'm ahead? Or do i ride out the strom and try to prove to myself that i can be a better person?

yeah, don't do that. Especially if you aren't planning on paying the credit card off as soon as it's due and tacking on 20-25% per year in interest.
only continue playing if you can put behind you what just happened. If you start gambling more, and it sounds like you do, just call it a day.

Is it less of a leak if I make a straight?
It is less of a leak if I make a straight and he makes a 1 card nut flush with the Ac which was paired with the As in his hand?
Just wondering what your feelings are.

wow have I ever screwed up my sleep schedule.....
I hear you... i went to sleep at midnight on friday night and woke up at 4 p.m. on Saturday... While it was nice to get as many hours of sleep I got the rest of the week in one night, I'm really paying for it.

wow i have to take a shit so bad and we only have one stall at the office and it is clogged with the fucking king kong turds i have ever seen. i went for the plunger and attempted to unclog and nearly gagged. i was unsuccessful in unclogging as it appears that there is 2 full roll of tp amongst the turds. i have 3 options.
1) Sneak in to ladies room. Five ladies works here, 3 are under 22 and hot, 2 are over 50 and hidacious
2) Go 3 miles up the road to Habib's 7-Eleven or McDonalds in the Ghetto
3) Hold it, wait til lunch, have horrible gas and crop dust the entire cube farm
Please choose an option

I would go with option 1 - perhaps not by sneaking in but by approaching a non-hot one and explaining the situation in the mens room and ask them to run interference on the door.
seriously though - you don't have a maintenence/janatorial guy for the building you can call???

In these situations, i usually tend to go with option #2. Our work bathrooms are so filthy.

I choose option 4. Remove King Kong turd and place it on boss's desk.
