Just so you all know, I'm playing fantasy football with a bunch of GenDonks and plan on representing NL strat by humiliating them all.
NoBBiR
Have you drafted already? If so, how's your team looking?

Is it for cash moneyz? I notice a lot of people are making huge FF bets now lol.

It's a 200 dollar buy in. The draft is next week. I'm looking to make some other side bets so I end up freerolling.

I did another fantasy league as a warm up. I went into the draft without a magazine or anything and this is my team:

QB: Matt Leinart
WR: Steve Smith
WR: Anquan Boldin
RB: Steven Jackson
Flex: Clinton Portis
TE: Kellen Winslow
Bench: Plaxico Burress
Darrell Jackson
Chester Taylor
DeShaun Foster
J.P. Losman
Kevin Jones
Chris Henry
Ronald Curry

I don't have a defense or kicker. We were required to draft them, but I dropped them and picked up Henry and Curry. I figured, since our draft was so much earlier than the season, I'd rather have those guys on my roster to see what they did during the preseason than hold on to a kicker or defense.

I literally flipped a coin between Plaxico and Darrell Jackson. Jackson ended up still being there on the way back. My lack of preparation cost me there because I forgot about Jerious Norwood, whom I should've drafted when I picked Plaxico.

For the record, this is a criminally small roster size. 14 players when you have 8 starters is ridiculous. Oh, and you receive .5 points per reception.
NoBBiR
Try to strike a deal for Dallas' defense, I guarrantee you wont regret it sir. Wade Phillips is going to unleash DeMarcus Ware on the NFL this year and I really, really like the depth at all of the Linebacker spots. The secondary is a great one with Terence Newman shutting down one side, and Anthony Henry finally back from a bothersome hamstring injury. Roy Williams is a fierce hitter and Ken Hamlin will let him play more near the line of scrimmage. The front seven is going to be sick.

Question, who has the best defense in the NFL, IYOs?

QFT.

They play the Eagles twice. That hurts their defense already. Best D in league is between the same old best D's, Chicago, Balt, NE, Miami.

Can everyone please chime in regarding North Carolina vs. Las Vegas as a place for a young guy to live?

There's only one right answer here.

I spent 5 years in NC. Vegas > NC AINEC

I feel like this would be a huge pitfall for locals! Luckily I've never been to a strip club, I feel they aren't my thing. (Insert know how I know you're gay line here)

Desmoines is right, I really need input from locals there, which I will do, this decision won't be completely made until July probably, and I'm (hoping) planning to be in Vegas for most of June to check it out.

I'm also not leaning towards Vegas at all, its completely away from all friends and family, which is semi-important. However I don't think I'd have a problem making friends and with a teacher's schedule there is always a lot of time to come back to family. It's a tough decision that I'll think about over the year and I'll visit both places.

Everyone that knows me that has been to Vegas says I'd love it. I'm not a big city guy though, I'm very much a townie. I'm not outdoorsy or country, just like being in a semi small town place where you know a decent amount of the people you live with.

It also depends a lot of what part of NC we're talking about. Charlotte wouldn't be bad and I've heard good things about Wilmington.

When Mcnabb breaks his pinky toe the first week of the season and sits out for the remainder, I'm going to be pissed >.<

I feel ya man.

About NC >, <, = LV:
I've been to Charlotte and it can be a little on the rough side in the city itself.

Wilmington is very nice though. I'd personally recommend Greensboro. A friend of mine lives there and says its perfect weather all year long.

Still, I think I'd rather live in Vegas though. But then again, I'm a degenerate gambler entering his prime, so perhaps that's why.
Naismith
As a real estate guy, I hear a lot about how great Charlotte is. I visited a friend there this past Thanksgiving and the most impressive thing about Charlotte? The number of murders on the news.

My brother lived in Wilmington and loved it.

So far, my day has gone swimmingly.

I went to bed around 7 AM, woke up at 8:15. One of my tenants has a well that no longer provides water to her house. I need to replace the well. I just spoke to the plumber that came out Saturday night for the first time as he had previously dealt with not me. He didn't inspire a lot of confidence in his diagnosis, certainly not enough to drop 3200 dollars on without having someone else check it out. Unfortunately, there's a waterless tenant involved, so there's not a ton of time for someone else.

The preference, of course, is to connect to county water if that's possible so we won't have to deal with this again. Easy, right? No, you see, you need to talk to "Service Availability" to see if there's any county water running close enough to hook this house up to. Ext. 43142, piece of cake, until you get their, "Leave a detailed message and we'll get back to you when we feel like it wait by the phone you a-hole seriously we are calling you back any second now".

Oh, also, half of my face is swollen from an infection which might be causing my current state of delirium.

Yay for today.

EDIT:

I did get a kick out of Zach's big red response to the bad beat strategy post a few threads below this.

Supplemental Vacation Report in the no-content thread...

Flew Las Vegas to Long Beach to Salt Lake City (girlfriend boards plane) to JFK (6am arrival). Spent Saturday in NYC then drove to Oxford (look it up) NY that night. Stayed there with the family and visited friends until I drove to Rochester on Tuesday morning. Spent the day with college friends then drove to Niagra Falls on Wednesday and back to Rochester for the night. Then drove across the state and into Adams MA (look it up) to visit my older brother. Spent the night there and then drove to Barre VT to be in my best friend's wedding on Saturday. We stayed there and drove to Manchester NH to fly out on Sunday.

My flight was from Manchester to Atlanta to Vegas. The flight was delayed 45 minutes which probably posed problems since I only had 50 minutes to connect orginally in ATL. We landed in ATL and sprinted (read: waited for the slow-ass tram to go from terminal E to terminal A) to catch my GF's connector in the 4 minutes before it left. We failed but they brought the plane back to the gate and let anotehr 20 people on so she got out on time but my flight was delayed another 2 hours. I wound up getting into Vegas and getting my bag at 12:30 am then got the privilege of waiting 45 mins in this long queue which I hoped ended in an awesome roller coaster ride but turned out only to get me a $40 cab ride home. Asleep at 2am, at work at 6am!

Everything went well. I traveled 1800 miles in the rental car and flew back and forth across the country with the girlfriend and we didn't get tired of each other which is very impressive. I'd probably kill my best friend if we spent that much time together, but then again, I can't have sex with my best friend. Anyway, great week!

Tskillz, I really loved Rochester and I was happy to go back and visit. I could see myself living there again some day but there just isn't a good enough market for what I do there right now.

I also really enjoy Vegas, but I probably plan to live here for less than 5 years total. I dunno, there are a lot of good and bad things about the place, but it works for me.

Also, where is the love for the New York Football Giants?!?!?!
