I was torn between overbet or min reraise to induce push but I figured min reraise could let him get away if he did in fact have overpair. Obv strange bet sizes FTW. Ship it.

Having lived with someone as delusional and crazy as the people in this story I would say at first its a fantasy to get out of "your" mundane life. Then once they find someone that is just as batshit crazy or someone that is super naive they start talking on phone, etc. Then they come out and are like I'm not 22/hot/rich, I'm actually 52/fat/poor, to which the reply comes "it's okay, I love you." Meaning: So am I.

Then they run away one of them uses the other for money/sex or whatever their goal was then the other comes running back to their old life hoping family doesn't judge them.

So basically they make shit up so that they can get someone to initially talk to them, then they come clean, then they meet, then they are absolutely crazy it doesn't work and they try to crawl back to former life.

Standard.

Yeah and wtf tskillz - You're going to teach our children the history of the World Series of Poker? OVER MY DEAD BODY.
Actually, that would be rather amazing. Go teach our youth how not to practice bankroll management and put their whole roll on double zero.

He's talking about Tskilz

Anyway, I *will* say that the "Vegas lifestyle" in the past has been rumored to make Vegas a tough place to live. However, I *do* hear these days that it's just like any other city, only it happens to have a huge casino district in the middle of it.

Acid Knight would be able to tell you about it.

Yeah all I hear are great things about San Diego. Not as easy for me to get a job there though. The easiest places for me to get a job are in NC, Vegas, South Texas, Chicago... and probably a few others. I pretty much narrowed it down to NC and Vegas, though I enjoy Chicago.

I'll do that for ya.

I *love* Chicago. If I were young and single, I'd be tempted to go there and live. But it takes a ton of $$$$$ to properly enjoy the city.

San Diego is supposed to be fantastic.

Las Vegas is the greatest place on earth, even with its high level of Acidknighticity.

Las Vegas I think would be a fine place to live as long as you can control the your degenerate impulses. Also I bet the schools are well funded since the casinos must pay boat loads of money for taxes.

True. When we did a city-wide rennovation project for our local schools, everyone said we had to go see the schools in Vegas. And the assets of the Las Vegas schools are beyond world-class. ACTUALLY, if you're going to teach, that should be a HUGE enticement ... the school facilities and funding are magnificent. I don't know about the actual work of teaching there ... how it goes, ie: the kids ...

I'm sorry we're talking about me now.

Vegas being state of the art would be a big enticement, I really don't know how accurate that is, I haven't heard either way on it. Where I would be teaching in NC is def not state of art. My salary would prob be 10-12k more in Vegas but it def doesn't go as far. Obv assuming poker would supplement my income, but I could do it online if need be.

I live in NY now so NC is semi-close to family and same time zone etc.

Lol, sorry. If only I had any sort of a clue about America's geography/schooling systems.
Being close to family would be a big thing for me. But in the UK you're always close to your family since England is smaller than your average state...

Sorry Stupidkid, I have found my best day usually is followed by my worst day.

Very nice re-steal.

I think there are relatively inexpensive/decent places to live in Vegas. But you have to ask the locals ... they populate this board all over.

I agree with looking at hot high school babes all day in vegas or NC would be pretty much a dream job.

And you'd know that in 6 months half the hot high school babes in the senior class will be showgirls, strippers or escorts. And, importantly, 18 and out of school. Go to Vegas and perv your little heart out.

I feel like this would be a huge pitfall for locals! Luckily I've never been to a strip club, I feel they aren't my thing. (Insert know how I know you're gay line here)

Desmoines is right, I really need input from locals there, which I will do, this decision won't be completely made until July probably, and I'm (hoping) planning to be in Vegas for most of June to check it out.

I'm also not leaning towards Vegas at all, its completely away from all friends and family, which is semi-important. However I don't think I'd have a problem making friends and with a teacher's schedule there is always a lot of time to come back to family. It's a tough decision that I'll think about over the year and I'll visit both places.

Everyone that knows me that has been to Vegas says I'd love it. I'm not a big city guy though, I'm very much a townie. I'm not outdoorsy or country, just like being in a semi small town place where you know a decent amount of the people you live with.

Heh, I mean it sounds great in theory, but could I live doing that?!? That's cool for a month or two but then would become unfulfilling. EDIT: Don’t Stand so Close to me:

Young teacher the subject of schoolgirl fantasy
She wants him so badly, knows what she wants to be
Inside her there’s longing
This girl is an open page
Book marking she’s so close now
This girl is half his age
Don’t stand, don’t stand so, don’t stand so close to me
Don’t stand, don’t stand so, don’t stand so close to me
Her friends are so jealous
You know how bad girls get
Sometimes its not so easy
To be the teachers pet
Temptation, frustration so bad it makes him cry
Wet bus stop she’s waiting
His car is warm and dry
Don’t stand, don’t stand so, don’t stand so close to me
Don’t stand, don’t stand so, don’t stand so close to me
Loose, talk, in the classroom
To hurt they try and try
Strong words in the staff room
The accusations fly
Its no use he sees her
He starts to shake and cough
Just like the old man in that book by Nabakov
Don’t stand, don’t stand so, don’t stand so close to me
Don’t stand, don’t stand so, don’t stand so close to me
