Any of y'all watch Padres/Rockies? LFT for San Diego fans.

(I'm pulling for the Rockies.)
Zach6668
Amazing game.

I'd def be on LFT if I was a Padre fan, considering he didn't even touch home. I don't think it'd matter, but it might have.

Okay, this is a long story.

My buddy invited me to play in a fantasy football league that his cousin runs. I'm not really sure how related they are...I think second cousins or something. Their wives are actually closer than they are.

I agreed to play and regretted it immediately. The first thing was when I arrived, the guy says, "So, you're committed to play from now on?" I was like, "well, let's see how this season goes first," but really I was thinking, "slow down crazy cult fantasty football guy." The draft was miserable. They had one long rectangular table where everyone sat in silence. It was against the rules to talk trash or make fun of picks. Also, they would repeatedly try to help people that couldn't think of players to pick. The people were weird and horrible at drafting and also weird. I hated it.

Three weeks in, my team was a disaster. I made a trade with my buddy (since no one else responds to trades) where I gave up Steve Smith & Steve Jackson for Deshaun Foster, Larry Fitzgerald and Ahman Green. My motivations for this trade were that I was giving up one starter and one disappointing injured player for three starters and that I'd be helping my buddy's team long-term. To be honest, the latter was more my concern because I just didn't care. I would've kept updating my team and then never played again. The trade was immediately vetoed, which is just silly based on production and injury and our individual situations.

My buddy refused to set his lineup for the following week until someone explained why the trade was vetoed in a free league. No response. Instead, the commish locked him out of the league so he couldn't post or update his lineup. Since I wasn't going to play without my friend in it, I dropped all of my players and picked up all Cardinals and changed my team name to the 'Zona Cardinals. I was promptly locked out.

Yesterday, my buddy figured out the password to the commish's account and unlocked us both. He transferred the commish spot to himself. A different cousin called and asked what's going on. My buddy said he was just screwing around to get back at being locked out and he'd transfer it back today after having some fun at the commish's expense. Today I signed in and read this post from the commish about my buddy:

"No Lee, he's 31 but he obviously has maturity, and mental problems. His friend is just as bad.

My wife and I were friendly with him and his wife. However, we will never speak or contact him or his wife again.

PS I haven't figured how to get the teams switched to sane people but I'm working on it."

My buddy's wife called to talk to the commish's wife and the guy answered, called her a bitch and hung up on her. He's also calling all family members telling them not to talk to my buddy...

...because of a free fantasy football league.

He's already given back the commish spot and had no intention to do anything else.

He didn't expect for his wife to suffer any backlash because of a freaking free fantasy football league.

They're lucky I wasn't commish since I have no affiliation with these people and can entertain myself for weeks on end.

I guess keeping a RB with a torn groin that hasn't had a good game yet, that is injured for at least two games, if not more, is better than trading for two RBs that have more fantasy points and aren't injured?

It's so hard to gauge you. I can't tell if you're pulling my leg. Or if you're that bad at fantasy.

Potential.

Oh, how'd Ahman do last week? Wait, what? He didn't dress? Oh, right. He was INJURED!

Please, please, please play in my league next year.

I'm the first to argue about potential in fantasy. I constantly tell you to dump your sorry ass players for guys that haven't done well that might turn it around.

When your team is doing horribly, though, and you're risking three straight losses because you don't have RBs to play, you have to bite the bullet. Would I like a better package than Green (listed as probable at the time of the trade) and Foster? Of course. Unfortunately, he's the only guy who trades and he wasn't throwing in Tomlinson.

I will gladly play in any fantasy league with you ever and I will never, ever, ever, never finish lower than you!

i disagree

Jackson is hurt bad 75% tear and on an atrocious team with an injured QB, Steve Smith is going to be a total bust the rest of the year without delhomme, what 2 catches last 2 weeks for 10 yards.

Fitz is very solid no TDs yet but they will come especially with boldin banged up. Foster splits carries but is having a decent year and ahman green isn't hurt too bad and probably will play this week on a pretty good Houston team

K LFT is offically over

I took No_Necks advice and went double or nothing on the Pats last nite. I got even. I won 7 buyins back today so I feel a little better.

I am severely cutting down on sports betting. Going with $30 bets vs $100. It was much easier when I was a bookie.

Well, Cadillac had his leg ripped off. Really, not much he could do about it, other than not have it get ripped off. I highly recommend everyone grab Earnest Graham if they can in their fantasy league. Runs hard, he does.

Don't ever trust a fantasy league where no one talks trash at the draft.

Also, everyone read Cobalt's post!
