Subbing for myself is PotsieP, playing in the tourney on my behalf.
O scenester09 (Coral Springs)
O Ecclesbury (Otley) NO STAKE
O Stupidkid888 (fcp) - NO STAKE
O DonkMeister (Nashville) NO STAKE
O wsox08 (Arlington Heights) NO STAKE - SUBSTITUTE 20TN40 (please get me your Stars screen name and location)

For those that need the stakes, check in here and confirm you are playing Sunday. I will issue the stakes late Saturday. If you fail to play or last minute cannot play, ship the $11 back or face the wrath of FCP gods. Give me as much notice as possible so I can find a sub.
Also, standard deal of 50/50 plus stakeback applies. Anything won should pay the $11 back first then add in 50% of what you win and transfer back to my Stars SN, plutophObey (Las Vegas)
Go get 'em.

Im down for figuring somthing like that out
Only makes sence if someone runs deep though.... first pay round is like 17 bux after stake back that leaves 3 each for the 50 50 so no point in shipping 1 cent but ya im game.
I completly plan on winning as well FYI

Yah, I agree. I was thinking if one of us final tables it or something like that. Looks like final tablers were gaurunteed around 1K+, so I think if everyone got 1% of everyone else, and only had it count towards a final table appearance that wouldn't be too bad. Gives another excuse for all teammates to keep railing other teammates throughout the tourney after you bust, as well. Cuz a 1st place by one of us = somewhere around $100 a piece for everyone else after stakeback/split with Obey (if you're staked).

Everyone who's up for swapping a certain % say yes here and how much you think we should go for. Once we get a % number, the qualifications for the share, and who all is in we can go from there. I'm thinking just 1 or 2% and only on a final table unless there's only a couple interested it could be more. What's everyone elses take?

Sooo...how about 1% for final table to every other teammate that agrees to it in this thread, since we haven't heard from everyone yet. That way if, for example, only 6 people agree to it, it'd be sharing 6% all around rather than 10% split 6 ways. My head hurts...does that make sense??

Re: swapping.
Whoever is taking charge of this, make sure the terms are VERY clear and not excessive, since people are starting to blindly agree to it. We don't want any in-house disputes. Especially since some players only own 50% of themselves.
To make it simpler for them, take me out of any "share" pool equation outside of my 50% stakes I have in people. If any of my stakes want to share, that's totally fine of course, so this way you know it's coming out of your 50% which you own completely and can do whatever you like with.

To be fair with non-staked players, it should be 1% of your total winnings minus buy-in. And the 50% of the stake should also not be touched.
So simple example, if you won $1,011. You'd ship the $11 stake back to me if you were staked. If you weren't, you'd subtract $11 as your buy-in.
So either way, that leaves, $1,000.
You'd then own $10 as your 1%.
Yet, you'd still owe the complete 50% of $1,000 for your stake, which is $500.
This would leave $490 for yourself.
No fuzzy math, very straightforward, apples to apples for nonstaked and staked players alike.

Blah. This means people on their own $ will have to send more, its the same %age wise but in money terms we'd act be givin double what you guys were giving?
Or is it 1%of your overall cash or 1% of what you guys who are staked keep ...I think if people are swapping then the same amount should be swapped if you are staked or if not.
As obey said, terms need to be set out properly if I'm gonna do this.

Exactly. Of course, using this example, it's 1% ($10) times how many ever end up agreeing to this. So if you have 6 players in not counting yourself, it's $10x6 = $60, leaving $440 for yourself if you were staked (as I am). Cool? Cool.

No, based on Obey's example, someone winning $1011 will ship $10 apiece to each participating member whether you're staked or not. You remove the buy-in either way, then it's just like doing the 1% calculation first. Divvy up 1% of the winnings to each, THEN if you are staked, pay back 50% (of the original winnings) to your backer.
Thus, by me accepting a stake AND participating in this 1% team deal, I am effectively giving up ~56% of myself, in return for the stake and the chance to win something extra when my teammates pwn. For non-stakees, you're giving up ~6% for the latter benefit only. The 1% payouts, from those staked or not, will be the same assuming the cashes are equal.
Ben_G
Friday, August 10th, 2007, 6:21 PM
Ok let me clarify this because i think that everyone is getting a little confused.
Staked Player : Pays Back the 11$stake and 50% of their winnings. They then give 1% to all participating players
Non Staked Players: Would take out their origional 11$ and then give .5% of their earnings to each participating player(or 1% of half the prize).
The only way that the non staked players would have to give 1% of the total prize would be if Obey was going to take part. If he was going to take part in the profit sharin then in turn he would be giving out 1% of half the total prize as well so if a stakee was to win it would work out to be the same amount as 1% of the total prize because both obey and the stakee would be giving out 1% of half.
So basically if obey is taking part then the non staked players would need to take out the origional 11$ entry and give 1% of whatevers left.
If obey is in and a staked player was to win the staked player would give obey half plus the origional 11$ stake and both would give 1% of their share.

Geez, i'm half drunk and trying to make sense of this. See if this sounds right and i'll check back with this in the morning/afternoon cuz I'll be gone all afternoon/evening tomorrow so we need to get this nailed down by roughly 2 pm Central time saturday.
No matter if you're staked or on your own, if you final table it you deduct $11 from your winnings and give 1% of what's left to everyone who's in on this. THEN, if you are staked you give that $11 deducted + 50% to Obey. If you're on your own dime, you keep everything else after the win - $11 - 1% to everyone. Wow, am I really that drunk or did that just make sense to me????
Ben_G
Friday, August 10th, 2007, 10:05 PM
Ok im cool with that.... everyone ships 1% of the total amount after removing the 11$ to each of the players, if you where staked you still ship 1% of the total amount, but take it out of your half of the 50% and still give obey his 50% of the entire amount asuming he doesnt want in on the deal.
Basically sums up as yes if you arent staked you will still be giving/ getting 1% of the total amount won just people staked will remove 50% for obey first and then pay it out.
Is that right?
works for me.
Wow are we slow or is this taking entirely too much effort to figure out. LOL

How about this, anyone want to swap 1% with me for only a top 5 finish.
For me it'd be meaningless to be receiving 10 bucks for in a swap for like 9th place.
1% of 5th place pays ~30$.

sigh...I have a feeling this isn't going to get done. My last offer I'll be a part of (just because I'll be gone from 2 pm tomorrow until an hour or so before the tourney) is a 1% share of any final table. You would first deduct $11 from the total winnings (either for yourself if not staked or for Obey as stakeback if staked) THEN give 1% of what's left to every person who's a part of the trade THEN keep the rest if on your own dime/split the rest 50/50 with Obey if you're on a stake. I'll check this tomorrow before I leave town to see if we've got some agreement. Bleh, I'm tired now.
