There's no value in betting here (with the possible exception when facing terrible players who just transitioned from NLHE and overvalue their PLO hands).

Without reading replies, I bet about half the pot here expecting to have the best hand. Hopefully I can get a call from a busted flush with a pair.

Checking behind is standard, but I tend to look for the thinnest value bets. I probably bet $4 or something similar. If he folds then note it for a later opportunity to make a cheap stab with a busted draw.

I can't see him checking a boat to you here, but he may pay you off with AKxx or A9xx with clubs.

Yeah, betting $6 or $7 is good. You're almost never beat here and you'll get a weak hand to pay off occasionally.
