Month to date. Yes, that is 20 days worth of play. Thankfully I run at >44ptbb/100, so it's all good. smile.gif

^^^FWIW I can feel the runbad coming. It's there, lurking in the shadows. Just ready to hit me with a couple of -$1k days.

I did follow that up with $1400 (7 buyins) in 85 hands though, and I'm actually at 68ptbb/100 over my last 2k PLO hands, which is nice. smile.gif

I'm scared to play because I know I can't maintain this. Soon, I will play and not run good and then my winrate will drop. It's weird because I should be really happy and eager to play at the moment.

Beats , Brags and Variance.

Does anyone else notice the increase in the number of German players on FTP?

And they all suck so bad that my table selection started to base on players' country.

I look for Brazilians and Russians hu.

A little.

This got me thinking. He would have been better off flopping the third nuts while having blockers.

I assume you check-folded the turn because you were concerned about the straight? It would be pretty stupid for a player to slowplay the straight multi-way on a 2-flush board.

Wouldn't it be more stupid to put that much money in on the turn with three eights?

ISAP?

I think my problem was checking the turn? I should have just pot committed myself on the turn then i would never fold. But then checking the turn induces other guys to spazz with worse hands. so i dont know. i just SAP i guess.

Just played my first PLO session since May. Game is so swongy.

You don't SAP, you're just a human being that gets a little rattled from PLO variance.

The PLO tournament I played was in Vegas a couple years ago. The only live poker I get to play is the once or twice a year trip to AC or Mississippi. When I was a little younger I'd play home games around the UNCC campus, but those ran a high risk of getting shut down so now that I'm older with a family I tend to avoid them.

PLO nits are so weird

they won't raise on the turn or river w/the second nuts, but they'll go absolutely berserk when holding AAxx irrespective of board. it's like they categorize poker hands like this,

AA
Royal/SF
Quads
FH

I wouldnt call myself a nit (just bad). But I find myself in situations, usually OOP, where I have the best hand but a terrible redraw and I play it super slow.

In other cases, I'll have like a weak pair and a flush draw, against suspected AAxx and I go absolutely bat shit crazy and get it in.

hi
RISEorFall
in general, should i be throwing away KKxx where xx are not suited or connected like KK37 no suits?

i figured the hand basically sucks unless we hit a K, so ive been ditching it (except like LP with a few limpers sometimes)
then i came across something last night that said to basically never fold AAxx or KKxx

in 6 max i'll throw away crappy QQxx UTG, but dont think i ever throw away crappy KKxx first in.

i'll also probably raise limpers with most KKxx and 3 bet MP or CO opens with most KKxx.

the lowest point in my overall poker career:

it was not,

losing in HU Stud against my brother, who follows the monkey strategy of bet when the action's on him, regardless of texture

going full speed ahead on razz (as everyone does at one point) in a HORSE tournament, realizing on 7th that I was playing stud hi, and I just wish I could open fold

losing 3 straight (not finishing in the money) NLHE SNGs to my relatives whose knowledge of poker, like my brother's, is limited to what's written on the Ace of Spades,

it was,

going broke at 6max 5plo. Granted I only had like $27 remaining online, so it's not as if I had much room to work with, but I'm putting this at the top. Had auto rebuy on and I noticed my stack would fill only to like $4.67. busto

I crown myself the forum's PLO Donk. Don't think in this past month I caught one bluff, made one successful nonnut value bet, and got paid on one nut hand. And this is 5plo so you know I must be doing all sorts of things wrong. Lost my last BI w/probably my only defensible hand of the whole run, limp/reraising AAxx and losing to rando clubs.

Making top set is very profitable when you hit it, and you are freerolling on the chance of making random full-house or quads with your side cards. If it's fairly deep stacked and I can get in cheap, I would not fold any KKxx. If it's short-stacked with most of the play preflop (for example, in a PLO tournament) you can dump it I think.

some people say they tilt a lot playing omaha. i like playing omaha while im tilting. i can just mash the raise button and im never that big of an underdog.

anyway, biggest pot ive won so far (and maybe one of the bigger ones ive ever won).
