Check calling turn with this hand is probably the worst line possible. I don't see how you can fold for 17$ more on river for a 63$ pot no matter what card comes.

Also i don't see how you will understand when you are improved.

I don't even call flop against most opponents. What if we hit our flush on turn? Do we lead? Do we check/call? Do we lead river if check check turn?

All in all , we have one pair and Q high flush draw.

Long story short , 387 hands = -269$

Aces with Q high flush draw has very good equity against the raiser's range IMO. There are very few hands that can have us crushed. Ok, we are out of position, but I'm not folding there.

I don't think putting money in as an underdog and/or drawing to non nut draw ( just one draw ) is acceptable just because it is a blind war.

Once the opponent pots turn leaving himself only 17$ , it is pretty obvious that he has a hand which K doesn't scare much. Otherwise he'd think about pot control , bet smaller to be able to get away if raised or even check turn to call a blank river.

Calling beyond that point with this hand is just fishy to me.

And i am not saying this cus i lost that hand. I like his call because it shows he is willing to lose a buyin to nut flush just because i am big blind.

ok bud and simo -- I'm taking a week or two off of omaha - My risk of ruin is massive right now. I've run well at 50plo, but playing on $400 is stupid, and I'm gonna go broke. I'm gonna do the smart thing I think, and drop down to start playing some $2 and $5 sit n' go's, that are more within my roll right now. With 400$ you can easily play 25$ plo. I think it will be quicker for you to build your bankroll too. I don't think you will lose 16 buyins at 25$ unless you get extremely unlucky.

But i have a personal dislike for sit n go's so i may not be objective about this.

I haven't been around for a week. I will sum it up in a BBV:

This nightmare downswing occurred in the span of three days, and left my head spinning. I haven't played poker since last Sunday (the last day of the downswing). I will be the first to admit that I helped the downswing flourish by giving in to the trappings of TILT. I feel that I have a good 'A'-game, but my 'C'-game needs a *lot* of work. I tilt too easily, and play *really* poorly while tilting. Until I am able to address this recurring problem, I will have a huge leak in my poker game.

Twice, over this 2 day session, I ended up at a table with an UBER-donk. It was a different guy each time, but both were running 90/40 over 90+ hands and reaching showdown in 40% of hands played. Obviously, both times, they went on super lucky streaks and took the table for $1,500 before spontaneously leaving. The only thing I was able to get off them was the biggest tilt mindset ever. These were both early in what would turn out to be nightmare tilt-induced downswing sessions.

I will be playing some live poker tomorrow with some friends, and will occasionally play in the Saturday VIP tournaments, but other than that, I am taking a break from poker. The break will last somewhere between one week and one year. During this break, I will not be perusing the forums, so...
