Only read I had on Kellygirl was she had yet to show a hand better than 10 low , and loved to hitch onto any raised pot. JSnod has just moved to table, no reads.

I couldn't put either player on a hand that could beat me on 6th streeet, neither he nor Kelly raised on 3rd, that's why I tried to cap it on 6th, I wanted to get the money in while I still had the best of it. I could be an underdog if they were drawing to beat me on 5th, but not on 6th. Am I correct in that assumption?

I aboslutely H A T E traps in Razz, but if you're going to spring one, this is the perfect time. However, if I'm going for the check/raise, I'm waiting to do it on 5th street when the bets are bigger and will mean more, and might get people out of the pot. As played, you're inviting everyone to hang around on 5th. Granted, they shouldn't be cold-calling 4th, but a c/c 4th, c/r 5th line has a better shot of protecting your hand.

So, you say Kellygirl <3's made 10's. Was she playing them passively? Agressively? Her c/r scares me on 6th. I almost believe she has something like 6543A. I think I slow down a little bit, don't cap, and call 7th too, UNLESS, i know she'd play a 10 like that (and believe me, I've had a hand where someone did something as stupid as that, in which I capped J-6 low, and c/c'd it on 7th to scoop

Heh, Kellygirl <3'd catching perfect-perfect to make 10's.. She was part of the reason I had a healthy stack. I misworded my original post.. I meant on *5th* street I wasn't fearing either player's hand. 6th street I obviously needed to slow down the betting upon retrospect. Both players looked to have a hand that could have pulled ahead.

You bring up a good point. Going nuts on 4th street didn't drive anyone out, and pot-committed them to call anything on 5th, the big bet street. If I was truly springing a trap (I hate "trapping" too) I would have had an easier time getting lay downs w/ a check raise on 5th with a smaller pot and bigger bets. The situation is complicated, of course, with letting *3* players draw cheaply, and possibly free. Perhaps a flat bet on 4th would have gotten 3 calls, and still kept the pot small enough to spring into action on 5th.

LOL, as for results, I won the hand, 7-5 low was good. JS had a 7-6, and Kelly sported an 8-6 with 2 pair. I hate it when people just post their "how can I get away from this?" hands, and not critique their winners. Yeah, I won the pot, but I got lucky.. Really curious as to how to tweak those betting lines on 4th and 5th. I know I couldn't possibly get more money into the pot, but it would probably be more +EV to get less money in the pot HU if possible. Hell, in micro limits, I am not sure getting HU in a fixed limit tourney is even possible sometimes.

In 1.10's, it's pretty tough to. But if I execute a c/r, I always try to do it on the bigger betting rounds, because it both makes more money, and because it has a better chance of driving out players.

With all that said, I play this hand straightforward, and bet it down. Granted, it doesn't protect the hand, but with the power of your hand (only TWO OUTS ARE GONE ON 4TH, that is almost a holy grail of razz hands), I'm more than happy to get more money in and exploit the mistake of my opponents being in the hand in the first place. On a weaker draw, I might want to get players out, but it's hard to do on 4th in Razz even in higher stake tournaments.

Plus, you might actually see your opponents put in more bets on 4th as a courtesy to you. Your opponent bet 4th, so there's (in my book) a 40% chance he raises there (of course, we're unable to know that beforehand).

But after 4th, I play the hand pretty much the same, except for capping 6th. If I river a 6, I'm pumping the pot, especially if kellygirl is as bad as you say.

I would have lead on 4th since the most likely raiser is on your right. By leading, if he raises, you can trap the field for 2. As played, I dont raise 4th because I want the weak hands in the middle calling. I'm pretty sure I'm ahead here. I play the rest of the hand pretty much the same.
