I've noticed a number of posters from the Indianapolis area along with other Colts fans on here, so it's time we got our own thread.

I am looking forward to another good season, although there are many questions already. Will Tarik Glenn's replacement work out? Who will start at DT and how well will he play? Will Freddy Keiaho be the stud he's projected to be? Are our corners ready for the spotlight? Who will be splitting carries with Joseph Addai? Will we continue our dominance of the Patriots?

Feel free to discuss all of these questions and any others in this thread.

Early in camp, it appears that Tony Ugoh, our 2nd round pick that we traded up for, will be starting at Left Tackle. I've heard good things so far. He got burnt by Freeney a couple times in a row in the towel drill, but I read that the same thing happened to Tarik. Hopefully, training against Freeney will accelerate his growth. I like Charlie Johnson, too. I saw him step in during the Eagles game last year, and he destroyed their line. After a touchdown drive where he had the lead block, the rest of the O-Line was gushing about him. If Ugoh doesn't work out right away, I think the Colts will still be all right.

Since the colts up and left baltimore one night out of the blue after elway refused to play there, the colts have always been on my blacklist.

Addai doesn't need to split carries with anyone.

He doesn't need to, to do what? Sure, he'll make it the entire game, but how will he be during playoff time? Certainly, he'll wear down as the season progresses.

Last year, the Colts split between Rhodes and Addai, and both of them were nails in the playoffs. They were fresh, and they dominated. I'm pretty sure Dungy is hoping to apply the same strategy this year.

QFMFT! I love to watch him play. He's young and fast and makes me not sad that Edge left for AZ.

It's pretty awesome to be 5-0 and flying under the radar. I feel so good about our team this year, and I felt this way last year, too. Could it be? One for the middle finger?

Huge game tonight. If the Colts win this, they go two games up in the division with road wins over ever divisional opponent...in the strongest division in the NFL.

If you check out the poll results at ESPN.com, you'll see that almost ever state has voted that the Colts will win except for the New England area. They're not haters, right? Even Florida is picking the Colts.

Colts win, tho, obv....

Onet One thing they have going for them: Better defense, you don't see teams running up 20-30 points on the colts like teams do with the pats..

You're kidding with yourself if you're trying to convince yourself that the Patriots have problems on defense.

Oh by the way, Richard Seymour came back and played today for the first time this year.

Colts are gonna get crushed next week. Probably something like 38-21.

I never said the patriots have problem on defense did I? Even though Dallas got crushed by the Pats, they could easily drive on them if they wanted too.. They just couldn't stop Tom Brady...

I'm not saying it's going to be a 13-10 game.. The teams are going to score.. but it's going to be a close game..

I am loving all the talk I'm hearing about how the Patriots are going to "crush" the Colts. I even read that the line was starting at -6 PATS. This game is in Indianapolis! So crazy...

Does anybody remember 2005? This is the year the Colts were killing everyone. Their offense seemed to score a touchdown every position, and the defense was killing people. And then we got stuffed by the Steelers in the playoffs.

It's different now. The Colts still have the same level of talent, arguably better actually. Only, they play a different game. The focus used to be on scoring fast and scoring often. Now the focus is on achieving the lead and managing the clock. In the words of Tony Dungy's good friend Herm Edwards, "We play. To win. The game." We win close games. We come from behind. We play to win the game.

The Pats are good. I know this. It's not a revelation, though their supporters feel the need to remind everyone often. They have talent at every position and have proven to be far superior over everyone they've played this year. But there's one thing they haven't done yet, and that is win a close game. Grind one out. Granted, they haven't had to, but my point is that they are still unproven. And they are about to go on the road and play a team that is proven.

Why do the Patriots run up the score on everyone? It's not because they're "classless." It's because the Colts showed them last January that no lead is ever safe against a good team. They don't want to play a close game. They aren't confident they can win a close game. And really, why should they be?

Pats fans say their team will crush the Colts? Well, they better hope it's a blowout. It may be New England's only chance to win this game.

WRONG! Are you blind? The Colts are gonna get ****ed up. It'll be a moral victory if they lose by less than 2 touchdowns.

Edit: I read the whole thing now instead of just the part about the 2005 colts. Still...you have no reason to believe the Patriots can't win a close game.

The Patriots have been winning close games since their first superbowl, so saying they aren't "confident" they can win a close game is foolish. I'm not here to go back and forth who is the better team now, but some of what you are saying in this post is just laughable...

I wouldn't be surprised if either team won, neither the Pats or the Colts have played a great schedule so it's going to be a great game to say the least. Regardless of who wins next week we're gonna have to go through this all over again when they meet in the AFC Championship.

Oh and Flush, PLEASE grow up! I'm just as excited as you are that the Pats are having a great season, but it's ONLY week 8.... January is all that really matters. If you're going to argue then please don't do it like the kids at my work would...

To say the Patriots are scared of playing a close game is retarded, so I'm giving my opinion to him on a level he can understand.

Plus I'm at a party right now and trying to watch the World Series, so I'm not putting too much time into these posts at the moment.

I dont care who wins. I would be surprised if the Colts got blown out though.

Honestly, this game strikes me as role reversal. The only minor weakness the Patriots have shown is that they can be run on. (Miami ran on them quite well....thats about the only nice thing I have to say about the Dolphins in that game.) I expect Peyton to work Addai and the short passing game. They will avoid Asante Samuel who is playing out of his mind. They will look to have long 8, 9, 10 minute drives. Keep Brady and his super WR corps off the field.

If Addai and Kenton Keith combine for over 30 rushes I like the colts chances. If peyton has to throw 50 times they are in trouble.

FWIW I like the Colts money line bet (+220). I can't believe the line is 5.5! They're the defending champs and UNDEFEATED! Go Colts!
