Am I reading this right? If Penner were to notch 30 this season, the bet still wouldn't be over until 7+ years from now? As Stamkos would still have a chance to score 30 at a younger age.

Oh, i think even if Penner scored 30 this season, the bet will be over long before 7 years....

I made this bet expecting Penner to score 30 goals last season.

I assumed this was some sort of misunderstanding.

If by misunderstanding you mean Serge overestimates his team's ability then yes, it is a misunderstanding.

However a little know fact...

Mustangs property Shawn Matthias(Detroit Red wings) has more pts than him in the OHL this year..

Stamkos 45 pts
Matthias 46 pts.


Matthias is 4th in the OHL in scoring right ahead of Stamkos...Also Mustangs property Wayne Simmonds(LA) is 19th in OHL scoring....

So there you go....Mustangs have two solid prospects in the OHL

Matthias is more than a year older than Stamkos, isn't he? Seems to me like he should be beating Stamkos by a lot more than just one point considering that he is a year ahead in development.

Matthias is actually a decent player. I think he'll be a 65 point player in the NHL.

Yeah the organization is REAL high on him and are already putting tags on this guy as "The next...so and so" Obviously it's real early, but one can't be disappointed with his progress so far and I'm sure he'll see a Panther uniform a lot sooner than later.

Did you read the terms? This is based on age... serge is basically screwed.

Also, Matthias plays on Belleville while Stamkos plays on Sarnia.

And lets not forget that a goal is worth twice as much as an assist in the AHL. Stamkos is a goal scorer!

If anything the edge in team/linemates could go to stamkos. I agree though while mathias is going to be a solid NHL'r, stamkos barring injury/something weird stamkos should be a real star
