Do we dump this on the turn? No reads, except that villain was taking his time with every action this hand (dunno about previous hands).

$109 freezout on stars, very early.

I ship it.

He's either got a set, or a hand he wants to play like a set (KQ, KJs, KTs, 88, etc).

I like to bust out of tournies quickly though. Helps my hourly rate. tongue.gif

With no read, Unfortunately, I dont think we have a choice but to make a crying call with 3-1 pot odds here. If you would have bet less or more on 4th street, your decision could have been a little easier.

Mind you, this is much higher stakes than I'm used to. Are there much less donks in those brackets?

You can't make the call based on having 3-1 odds here, you'll have to factor in that you'll almost always be facing a substantial river bet as well.

I shove - he might have 22/44 but your turn bet of about 1/3 the pot might have made him think that you're weak. His small raise is a bit scary but I've seen enough bad play in the 109s to think that you're good more often than not.

This is something I do a lot for reasons of pot control, and mostly for trying to look weak when I'm strong. I had a beautiful example of me leading weak on the flop and turn with like the nut nut and my opponent ships in a huge stack with air but I can't find it right now. Anyways though I think it also gets me in trouble a fair amount in spots where I've defined my hand as possibly weak/scared, although really I have a strong hand but not a hugely dominating one, such as here with AK.

probably a set but with that board I go broke most of the time if it is a set really is read dependent if the guy is a maniac I shovel and dont think twice if he is a nit I might fold but its tough to fold these hands in online tournies with a limited amount of play and that harmless seeming board.

I don't see why people would shove the turn when he check raises.. you are driving out hands that he is bluffing with when you reshove.. i call.. then call the river bet.. if he has a better hand you are getting the money in anyways.. you might as well let him bluff so when you do have the best hand you make money.

Yeah, that's almost definitely better.

No, sir. I like it.

If we're ahead, they are usually drawing pretty thin, unless it's a semibluff with a flush draw, or something.
