.5/1 home game
Button is not too bad of a player, he is very aggressive most of the time, just not this hand. He has had a tough night. He hasn't seen too many hands and any time he's had a little something it gets beat. In situations like this I think players don't have the ability to fold any kind of good hand since they have seen very few and are desperate to get even.
SB is not very good. He is pretty weak/passive/tight. The small bet on the turn is not unusual he doesn't seem to understand that you should size your bets in relation to the pot.
Stacks
Hero (220)
SB (70)
Button (130)
Hero dealt KJo in the BB
Button limps, SB completes, Hero checks
Flop (3 players, $3)
JJ5
SB bets 2, Hero calls, Button calls
Turn (3 players, $9)
6
SB bets 2, Hero raises to 10, Button calls, SB calls
-At this point in the hand I don't think the small blind is very serious with the hand. I think he is calling with something weak. Button on the other hand has shown a lot of strength by calling 10 cold. Since he would almost always raise the button with AJ I put him on a weaker J or a full house, althought I would see him also raising the pf with 55 or 66.
River (3 players, $39)
8
SB checks, Hero?
Like I said before, looks like the button has a good hand and if he has a weaker J I think he will pay off no matter what J it is or the size of the bet. How much to bet he has a little over 100 in his stack.

hahahah 'that's me'
so you're one of those...
*EDIT*
ok, in relation to the OP, i'm pretty sure you've got the best hand & i'll trust your read of your buddy on the btn that he'd have raised w/ 66 or 55 (or obv w/ 88 if the prev 2 suffice)
i'd probably lead out for something like $20-$25... & expect to get paid off by at least the SB.. i mean, he DID lead flop & turn...
hope you didn't get coolered by 74s lolz
*EDIT*
i'm honestly not trying to hijack threads, but this reminds me of another story...
1/2NL casino... me & my buddy been there for a while, one of our final hands of night (waiting for my CO to leave hahaha) my buddy calls a PF raise w/ K 10s from btn, bb reraises enough to put CO (original bettor) all in, CO calls & my buddy's priced in w/ position... flop blanks out... checked around, my buddy even asks the guy "wanna check it down?" guy doesn't answer but checks the flop.. my buddy asks him "check it down, right?" and checks...
turn blanks again, and guy says sure check it down... my boy checks behind... river falls a K... there's roughly $60-$62 in the pot @ this point... and BB exclaims "well, i can't check anymore" and bets $6
so i look over to my buddy thinkin "wow, he's gonna hafta pay this A K off w/ like mid pair or osmething"
i look over (i'm sb in this hand) & see he's got top pair, so @ that point i think there's a possibility bb didn't really have A K, but the bets so small he has to pay it off w/ virtually anything (i might have called w/ A high & def would have w/ any pair) but my buddy tanks it for like 30 seconds and says "i can't call, i'm just giving him 6 more dollars, i know he has ace king" and i'm sitting there w/ the same read but thinking "yeah but how don't you pay that off"... i'm assuming he's making this call no matter what, and i was worried the PF all in-er or the BB would call the floorman over if i tell my boy to call, as i'm not in the hand & not allowed to say such things... so i'm affraid if i say something they're going to bitsh & whine & moan & i didn't want them to declare my buddy's hand dead & force him to surrender his invested money instead of just calling a measley $6...
results:
my boy folds, i INSTANTLY exclaim "what the fucc bro"
BB turns over A Qo & TID w/ A high...
my boy still hears the donkey remarks forever for that one, even though i thought he had A K too & usually he does, i dont see how my boy folds for that ammount after making top pair on the river in a checked down pot...
and oh yeah, he's been playing for 5 years & is easily better than i am & capable of higher levels of thinking...
he just outplayed himself there lolz
