~2300 to call into a 5k pot.

Jan's a good player and his raise from EP tells me he has a decent hand. AJs+, AQo+,88+
His flop bet was smaller than expected and I paused when he made it. I would have expected 700-800, so the smaller bet worried me a bit. Was it a probe or for value??

Is my line way too weak in this hand?

If his range is that tight, why call any bets? fold preflop, or on the flop anyway.

I'm not overly sure what there is to consider here...You gave him a range, you're beating one of his hand AJs (excluding suited in spades), tying another and crushed by everything else. This isn't even marginal surely.
Did you post this because you folded and he showed like 109hh or something?

You called a bet on the flop why exactly. Unless you were going to push on turn no matter what.
I do not understand anything but you call pre flop here.

88 - JJ are in there too. There's a decent chance I'm sitting with two overs in this situation, and may even be ahead. His bet is weak. Sure doesn't look like an instafold to me. Even if I miss the turn, I might be able to steal it when an over to his PP hits. If he checks I'm pushing.

No, he had a decent hand. Just wanna know how others would play this.

Shoulda folded the flop I guess...his bet seems pretty scared though and I felt my AQ could be the best hand and at worst I'm behind a smaller pair and getting 3.5/1 to call. Folding AQs PF here seems pretty nitty.

As for your T9HH comment StupidKid, I see little point to comments like that. I see them fairly often in here and I don't see what is gained by them. (OP OBV lost because otherwise he would not have posted...OP obviously got bluffed off the better hand or he would not have posted, etc.) MAYBE OP posted the hand because they want to learn. *shock**faint*

He says these things because that is mostly the case. It was also his point to try to flame you for contemplating calling an all in with Air.

As played, fold on the flop. Remember, AQ isn't very strong when you miss, especially against a PF raiser

Personally, I fold this pre-flop after a raise from a good player...
