This isn't even close. Move in over the top. If someone has a straight, then you have plenty of outs to boat. You are way ahead of both of their ranges anyway~

30 Handicap is my buddy and I actually watched this hand. He wasn't considering folding. The 2 options he was considering were just calling the short stack to make sure the big stack came along or shoving.

Hero pushes.

I'd probably shove here. One of the last things we want is to smooth call and then have CO call behind us only for a diamond to fall on the turn.

Is just calling even an option?

Yeah, it's a option. The betting isn't opened for the CO, so if we call the flop that's it for the flop round. We could call and check/raise the turn.

It's just that we can't really learn anything from the turn card since we don't know who's drawing to what. We can **** this up royally if we check and he checks behind with a draw. Or if the flush gets there it can kill our action against some hands.

If we get all the money in on the flop, we're effectively not out of position anymore.

I guess I just assumed at this level that CO is probably not raising a draw (but heck, I have no idea how this level plays) so I was putting CO on a hand that we have dominated like K10, A10.

25 max plays better than 50 max, at least on stars. I would never call here. What do you do if a diamond falls (especially the 9d or 8d). What do you do if a diamond falls and you check and he checks the turn and another falls. What if he has a hand like JJ/QQ or a two pair hand and a bad card falls on the turn and pushes him out? You can't just call. If he is drawing, get money in now while he doesn't have a made hand. No matter what you have to raise it. No free cards with that board.

Just saves all those extra "shoves" for any questions you feel like asking concerning a flopped set.

You can't give him a cheap turn card with so many draws out there. If the flop would have been K73r then you can consider flat calling, but not here.
