I can't figure out the outs I have very quickly.
I wrote down an example with 20 straight outs.
THat's the most for a Straight only, right?

Anyway... should I just deal myself about a million flos and practice, or is there a simpler way to figure it?

Here's a hand I played badly:

real new, no reads

Push the turn here. You take it down right there. If stacks were deeper I wouldn't, but being what it is, that's what I would do when checked to.

why not raise the flop?

Are we strong enough?
Do we want to play for stacks here?

I don't mind flat calling flop with BB behind.

You should definitely pot turn.

I need to see how many outs I have..
But I guess it's about FE, huh?
simo_8ball
It's not about FE, it's the idea that on the flop we can easily be an underdog to a draw, and it is better to wait until the turn to put money in, where the draw is far weaker.

Ideally, we would like to make the draw pay a reasonable amount on the flop, then again on the turn. The problem is, if we raise the flop, we allow any big draw to get all of their money in as a favourite against us. By calling, we lose the minimum when he hits the turn, but we also get to make him pay a big price as a dog when he misses.

What is FE?

Fold Equity.
BudBundy
Heads up , i don't really want him to fold his overpair with flush draw.

If he calls , we will be a good favourite with one card to come. If he folds we will win more than a half stack pot without any challenge.

We should be happy either way.
