But we have some other stuff to figure out in terms of juicing it up. Here I'll snag a quote from goheels, our previous cycle's champ, to get the discussion rolling:
When is the next series starting?
If you want to transfer just sent it to JAS II from "requests" -> "transfer funds".
I like the idea of everyone putting in an extra dollar every week. I think the only real way to do this is for everyone to ship $10 to someone to hold before the first tourney. Trying to organize everyone sending $1 every week would get pretty difficult. Say you have to send your money before week 4 or something.

I have transferred $5.50 (what I pledged early on to the winner) to JAS II; a few other people said they would send him something. Anyone who played last time really ought to ship him a buck at least.
But moving forward, I think he's right that we need to collect money in advance. As I'm the organiser of this thing, it would be logical to send it to me. But I've only been here about seven months, so I suppose some longtime board members could suspect that I've been working a long con on you all that time. ;-) If people want to nominate someone else (Zach or Copernicus come to mind) that's cool too. Let's just figure out who it is going to be and get it straight before week two (no time to settle it before the first week). Also, should the prize be winner-take-all, or what?
The points system will stay the same--that seemed to work pretty well. There will still be a five point bounty each week for eliminating the previous week's winner; if that player is not present, the bounty will simply go to that night's winner for being the last player standing. And just to make sure the last week is exciting, let's double the points for week ten. That's enough to give several people a chance (probably), but not so much that it makes the "regular season" meaningless.
