improving to a 9 high doesnt seem worth it for $1, and seat 7 could also improve his hand to
something better

3rd is a raise. Our hand isn't that great because of the other door cards but its still a 3 card 6. On 4th I would raise not fold. There is a guy with a K showing in there and a guy with a Q showing. Punish them with a raise and maybe it will get it heads up if villain reraises you. A 4 card 9 might be the best hand now because there was no raise on 3rd and even if it isn't we shouldn't be that far behind and when our opponents hit two 6s and a 5 on 4th it increases our value even more.

6th I would fold because after the Q called on 4th he at least has the low cards to go with the 9 and we may be drawing dead if he has a 964xx made.

dont you think a raise on 4th would be a bit too aggressive? my hand wasnt made yet, and i could have been beat by seat 5 still. even if the kings and such hit, they are still on a draw and i can bet on 5th street if i catch good. raising doesnt seem like a profitable play to me here, hmm icon_think.gif ...

We either want to charge the guys with the K or Q or we want them to fold. Raising accomplishes this. Seat 5 has us beat quite a bit here but even if he does have us beat, our draw is fairly live and at best he normally only has a 4 card 8 here. He could show me a better hand on 4th and I would still raise because of the two guys in between.

Complete 3rd street. Call 4th street. You don't want to put any more money in on right here until you get something better developing. The goal on 4th is not to drive out players but to put more money in the pot with a hand that might have decent showdown value. I check 5th, your hand could just as well be face up and a decent razz player with a good draw would pop it, and fold 6th if it's bet. If you had hit better on 5th to where you had a 9 better than a nine eight, i raise or bet here to drive out the weak hands and get it heads up. nine eight i still check, you're still flipping against a draw to an eight, and a dog in the race at that, and any good razz player would pop you, and get you committed to a showdown even if you knew he hit it.

Yes, you must complete/raise on 3rd.

There's a strong arguement for a raise on 4th, while the bets are still small. You must charge the K and Q here, even if you have the second best hand. It's even good if first first better raises, forcing the face cards to call 2 more cold dif they want to stick around. Even though you may still have been a dog, you may have improved your chances from something like 20% to 40%. If you had a 4 in the hole instead of a 6, the raise would be manditory.

I was also thinking you must bet on 5th with the best board, but HM makes some good points not too. Still, against 3 worse boards I think there is some value here in betting to lose at least one of them. Although if seat 7 if stubborn enough to voluntarily play his Q on 3rd, he's not leaving now.

i agree you gotta rise on 3rd and call on 4th..
