Hero: $300+
villain: a little under $200
I'm on button, villain in UTG from my button has straddled every hand and raised every straddle. He's shown down AA and QQ from 2 of his last three straddles and complained about all the 84s he's had to raise his straddle with before.
Hero has AsQh ... 4 limpers. Hero limps and waits to repop villain's straddle raise. SB and BB call ....... aaaaannnnnnddddd ..... villain doesn't dissappoint; says $15.
Call, call, call, call.
Hero raises to $45 from the button.
SB folds. Straddler hesitates and calls. Everyone else drops, so we're heads up.
Pot ($174 - ish).
Flop: Qs 9h Th
villain pushes last $101 all in.
Hero?

Raise WAAAAY more with AQ than to $45. You're only raising $30 and the pot to the first player will be offering like 3-1 already. You're not trying to promote action here, you're trying to pick up dead money.
Once the flop comes down, you beat him into the pot.

villain raise to $15 + 4 calls = $75
+ $45 bet = $120
villain is looking at $30 to call at 4-1. if he calls, anyone else is looking at 5-1 or better to play along. i think i'd go at least $60 preflop. this also makes the call on the flop a little easier.
has anyone else limp-reraised when he straddles? what his play? i'm curious what his range is facing the reraise.
i don't think he'd be coming along with the usual 84 garbage. i think a good calling range is going to be connectors or a middle pair.
at the flop, i don't think there's anything he can reasonably have that you're behind. a low set is a possibility, but is he leading out with it? he's got to figure he's getting all his money in; wouldn't it be better to give you the chance to make a bet and commit yourself?
i think he's going to have something like J10 a lot here, or less likely a pair and a flush draw. the pot + his bet is about $250, so i think the 2.5-1 justifies a call (right? i'm too lazy to finish the math).

call, that's almost a dream flop for the situation. otherwise, what were you doing there in the first place?

Yeah. I'm gonna echo what everyone else said and tell you to re-raise larger before the flop and insta-call his push.

I'd think that this is the type flop you would like when your raising with a hand like that. I'd definatly call here, based on the fact that you connected well on the flop and the considerable amount of money in the pot.

So this is pretty much a brag post because Hero runnered out the queen flush on him, right?
=DAssuming Villian didn't have the ace of hearts

Nope.
I had a hard time pushing chips in because I thought he'd hit 2 pair.
I was stunned to see him roll over AA.
I just wanted to see if I played OK.

call. Pretty easy call given the pot odds here. It's a half pot bet and he has a very wide range here. I never fold here.
