I agree 100% with the post about the hands per hour. I don't think there is any comparison between the profit potential online as opposed to live games....especially if you are playing smart and waiting for your hands. In a casino....you could be waiting hours for your rush to come (based on the amount of hand being dealt in an hour). Where as online...you will see way more hands AND you have the ability to multi-table. In my opinion...live games are only good for high stakes games and tournaments.
I agree, and i used to think the exact same thing as you and Cobalt.
However, realize this; LIVE, the majority of your opponents are there to try their hand at a little poker. They bring 100 or 200 that they plan to lose. If they win, well all the better. But they sit down willing to lose their cash.
Now, players like myself, who go there to play to win. and go there with the intention to sit for 6 hours. Ill walk around, ill wait on hands, I'll fold Top pair on the flop if its raised and re-raised.
I have 1 thing in mind. Scoop some pots.
The 50 year old man, and his buddy who are their with their wives to see David Copperfield don't have all day/night, They have 1 hour before the show starts, so they will try desperately to make their A,8o the nuts.
And thats why Its so easy to pick up pot after pot.
You compare that with online players. Now-a-days, people who play online for fun are a minority. The Majority play to win. They multitable, they watch TV while hand after hand gets dealt to them.
Online is an easier way to even out variance. But live is a cash grab IMO.
