last night I was playing 2/5 200 max at windsor. I had just sat down and noticed the guy on my left was the table captain/maniac showing 3 barrel bluffs, raising 30-40 preflop every hand. First decent hand I get is 44, i limp in CO, he makes it 30 on the button, 5 or 6 people call, folded to me i re push for my last 180 ish, he calls, every1 else folds. he shows 3d4d i hold up to win. THis is just to give you an example of his type of play.

The next time I am UTG I pick up AK. Limp, he raises to 25 4-5 people call again. I have about 450 behind. Whats my play? If re raise is called by him, what do I do on flop if i hit? if i miss?

Thanks

I'd push here. If you limp-reraised about 150 or so, you've only got 300 behind. The pot will be at least 300 if you go to the flop and you'd be pretty much committed. I'd rather push it preflop where you likely have the best hand, given the action, and just hope to take it down right now.

If he's willing to put in alot of money with 34d, your AK is well ahead of his range. Re pop him and go from there. I wouldnt mind getting all my chips in with a guy like that. Assuming your well rolled for the game.

2/5 200 max? That is a crazy game.

As played I think you set this up well by limping and letting the LAG open the pot. He got a few callers which adds alot of dead money to the pot. The LAG can have lots of hands here, and AK figures to be a favorite aginst him based on the previous play.

I'd go allin.

Yeah looks like an easy push given your history with the player. Reminds me of a hand on HSP where Todd limped in EP with AK and Farha predictably raised from the BB with T7s. Got back to Todd and he effectively shoved (raised to something absurd like 70k, which was enough to put Sammy all-in).

How much does villain have and how about the players inbetween? Are they ticky enough to limp with big pairs behind you, knowing that he'd raise? It's not necessarily going to change anything, but you need to factor that in.

I don't mind pushing here, especially since he showed that he's willing to call with garbage.

villain has table covered at >2k. EVeryone only flat called his bet, so I would be surprised if they slowplayed a big pair as he has been more than willing to make absurd calls preflop on speculative hands.

BUT it is possible.

No, you're right. I for some reason thought you were in EP, a bunch of limpers and then he raised, but you're both in EP, he raised and got called a bunch of times. Fearing big pairs here is just silly.

I wouldn't worry about other hands. If you wanna gamble, just shove it in there. He'll call, you'll be anywhere from a 7-3 favorite to a coinflip and you go from there. Best of luck.

Shove! I'm interested in hearing what he called you with.

after readign replies i guess i mis played it a little, but it doesnt matter considering his hand of 66. i raised 100 on top, he is only caller. flop jj2, i figure im ahead of his range here and go all in for my last 175, he calls and shows 66.
